The Scorchers had things under control until last week but losing a thriller to the Sixers, followed by yesterday's defeat to the Stars didn't help the team's cause. Weather too played a part in their exit as the outcome could've been different if we get to witness the full match in this encounter.
Right then! We still have a lot to look forward to in this WBBL as the last three matches in the league stage are coming your way. The Sixers have directly qualified for the finals but the teams finishing in the other three spots will be known today. Switch tabs to find out what happens between Sydney Sixers and Hobart Hurricanes now. The weather in Sydney is clear and hopefully, it stays the same. Now, it's time to end the coverage here as this is Pragadeesh and Pratyush signing off
Melbourne Renegades beat Perth Scorchers by 6 wickets Erica Kershaw 34(18) | Sophie Devine 24(22) Shabnim Ismail 1-12(2) | Lilly Mills 3-9(2)
Rain is falling down again but that doesn't matter as the defending champions are out of the tournament. Kershaw rose to the occasion from nowhere as her cameo proved pivotal for the Renegades to cross the finishing line, after the team suffered an early blow
This pitch was difficult to bat for everyone, except for Kershaw as we witnessed some clean strikes from the left-hander. Lilly Mills put the Renegades under the pump by getting rid of Matthews and Athapaththu in her first over and the team were reeling at 15-4, but Kershaw took matters into her own hands and delivered for the team.
7.3 Marizanne Kapp to Erica Kershaw, FOUR! THE SCORCHERS HAVE BEEN KNOCKED OUT! In-angling yorker this time and it's the gold old french cut from Kershaw that trickles past short fine leg and into the ropes. Hurricanes and Heat will be celebrating this win alongside the Renegades! The defending champions exit the tournament. Melbourne Renegades win by 6 wickets!
7.2 Marizanne Kapp to Erica Kershaw, FOUR! Pitched up outside the off-stump, Kershaw clears her front leg and slams this through the covers for a crucial boundary
7.1 Marizanne Kapp to Carly Leeson, nails the slower yorker to start with, Leeson squeezes it out towards long-on to bring Kershaw back on strike
It's not Cleary, Devine has gone for the experienced Marizanne Kapp. Season on the line, can the Proteas all-rounder deliver for the Scorchers?
We are going to the final over to decide the winner of this tie. Who is going to bowl the final over?

6.6 Alana King to Erica Kershaw, AH! NEARLY! Quicker one pushed through on middle stump, Kershaw rocked back for the pull, only managing to get an inside edge onto the pads, no run
Hear the roar from Kershaw after playing that powerful shot
6.5 Alana King to Erica Kershaw, FOUR! Flatter on length outside the off-stump, Kershaw backs away to give herself some room and drills this through the covers for a boundary
6.4 Alana King to Carly Leeson, SAFE! Tossed up on the off-stump line, Leeson shuffled across for the attempted heave but got a leading edge that ballooned over the keeper's head for a single
6.3 Alana King to Carly Leeson, tossed up full and outside off, Leeson shuffles across her stumps to work this through backward square leg for a tap and return
6.2 Alana King to Erica Kershaw, flighted full and outside off, Kershaw sweeps it along the turf for a single at deep mid-wicket
6.1 Alana King to Erica Kershaw, pushed through wider wide outside the off-stump, Kershaw stumps out to bunt it back to the bowler. King does well to get a hand one but she's copped a blow on the finger. Dot ball in the end
Alana King (1-0-3-1) comes back into the attack
Kershaw is breaking the hearts of the Scorchers' fans already. She was promoted up the order to tackle Alana King but she has gone after everyone so far.
