Match Summary: Melbourne Stars - 177/5 (20) | Sydney Sixers - 182/3 (19.4) | Sydney Sixers won the game by 7 wickets

Sydney Sixers show their prowess yet again, and it's the prodigal son Josh Philippe who shows his calibre, his potential, and his brilliant form. He's been doing it since a while now. We saw him transform into a reliable player last season, and now he's taken it a step further. He's been unstoppable, and he's been one of the best batter's in this format for a while now.

Stars started off in just the way they would have wanted. Got rid of Vince early, but they just could not break through Philippe. Henriques came in, and got right down to business. Started off his innings with a maximum, and played a handy knock, scoring 29 runs off 20 balls. The partnership was going along well, but just then, right on the brim of drinks, the skipper was struck plumb.

Zampa and co, could not bother the batter's. The Sixers cruised their way through the bash boos target, and clinched it in the 9th over itself. They were very consistent with their run rate throughout the game, and were barely ever under the pump. Zampa did well initially, and so did Coulter Nile, but it was Brody that stood out, with his variations and his disciplined line and length.

Maxwell scored a phenomenal 100, but was too expensive with the ball. The bowling unit yet again failed to put pressure on the batter's and did not manage to pick enough wickets as well. That's been their downfall, and the tragedy continues. Silk joined Philippe at the end of the innings, and played a fine knock, scoring 25 off 19, supporting Philippe well, and picking up runs when needed.

We've witnessed two special innings today! First, it was Maxwell's carefully crafted century and then it was Philippe going about business as usual. He'll have wished he picked one more run, to make into the 100 club, but he'll have plenty of time to do it some other day. Philippe has transformed into a reliable player, one that can, and has been carrying his team on his shoulders. A bright future awaits the right hander!

It was an exciting game, with the Sixers making it look far too easy. They clinch the points, and get back to winning ways. Moises Henriques(Sydney Sixers Skipper): "With the start, we had with the ball, we thought that we away 20 too many. Glenn put on a show today, where we didn't put a fielder, Glenn hit there and Josh repeated the same when he was batting. Once the ball got old I think it was getting simpler as at the start it was going up and down. It was good to have a bowl today for me, we have three or four all-rounders and that allows us with all the options as well. I guess from watching Josh I think he premeditates a shot but never commits to that shot as he adjusts to something that he wasn't expecting. He has a very good bat swing and is doing well in all three formats."

The Sixers get back to winning ways, and it's Philippe who hits the final runs. Smokes one into the stands, over deep mid wicket, but he'll end up on 99! It's been a phenomenal knock by the youngster, and he deserves all the accolades. He's batted through the innings, and has anchored his team through really well. Sixers go top of the table, clinching all the point today!
