Sydney Sixers Women beat Melbourne Stars Women by 4 runs!
Suzie Bates 27 (19) | Sophie Day 5-25 Ellyse Perry 22 (15) | Chloe Tryon 3-2
This game seemed to be well-poised for an interesting finish, but unfortunately, the rain Gods have decided to have a say in it and mark it partially closed.
Melbourne Stars were perched at a precarious 44-3 in 5.4 overs while trying to chase the 135 runs that they were set by the Sydney Sixers Women.
However, it did not quite go according to plan for them as they lost their first three wickets in the powerplay itself. Openers Sophia Dunkley and Meg Lanning fell for ducks while Alice Capsey too could not make it count.
After the rain delay, however, the game resumed, and the Stars were asked to chase twelve runs in the eight balls remaining. The target was revised to 56 in seven overs. Unfortunately, the Stars succumbed to the pressure put upon them by the fielding side and threw their wickets away quite cheaply.
This loss will hurt the Stars very much as it comes on their home ground. They will want to recover quickly from it and get their campaign back on track.
Gardner takes the catch and the Sydney Sixers Women win an absolute stunner!

6.6 Chloe Tryon to Annabel Sutherland, THE CATCH IS TAKEN! SYDNEY SIXERS WOMEN WIN THE MATCH! Good length ball outside off. Sutherland goes for an almighty hoick across the line and gets a good piece of it. But, it does not go all the way. Instead, it lands into the safe hands of deep mid-wicket who knew where the boundary rope was! Chloe Tryon does the job for her team in the final over!
Annabel Sutherland c Ashleigh Gardner b Chloe Tryon 3 (7b, 0x4, 0x6)
6.5 Chloe Tryon to Kim Garth, good length ball around off-stump. Garth pushes on the up to cover for a single only. Stars Women need 5 runs off 1 ball now!

And she goes first ball too!
6.3 Chloe Tryon to Nicole Faltum, ANOTHER ONE GOES! Good length ball around off-stump and slowed down. Faltum steps out to slap it over cover but ends up miscuing it. The ball then falls into the safe hands of Suzie Bates at mid-off who makes no mistake!

That is a huge blow to the Stars! Bates makes no mistake at mid off, and Bouchier has to go. Six runs needed off four deliveries now.
6.2 Chloe Tryon to Maia Bouchier, THAT IS OUT! Good length ball around off-stump. Bouchier makes room to go over the top but slices it a bit. Mid-off gets in position and takes an easy catch in the end!
Maia Bouchier c Suzie Bates b Chloe Tryon 19 (12b 4x4 0x6)
6.2 Chloe Tryon to Maia Bouchier, short and down the leg-side, Bouchier misses the sweep and the umpire calls it a WIDE pretty late!
Seven off five now!
6.1 Chloe Tryon to Maia Bouchier, round the wicket, OH! Full and floaty on leg-stump. A miss of the flick through square-leg! No run.
Chloe Tryon, left arm orthodox, will bowl the final over.
Seven runs are needed off the last over! The Stars are nicely placed to win this game, and it appears as if both Bouchier and Sutherland will be keen on getting this over with.
