That's all for the night. But do join us tomorrow, it's a double header day on Saturday and we have Durban Super Giants taking on Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the first game and in the second, we have Joburg Super Kings going up against Pretoria Capitals. Two big games and should be a cracker. This is Pradeep signing off, thanks for tuning into Sportskeeda, good night and take care!
Ryan Rickelton is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: Really chuffed to get the win for the team, got a bit of luck and made the most of it but the four points is what matters most at the end. Just trying to simplify, first couple of overs, the ball moving a bit, keeping it simple and I try to set the platform for the rest of the guys. Rassie and I go long way back with the Lions, we actually are having a lot of fun out there. I think the first couple of games, we weren't beaten, we lost those games and we were failing to get over the line, nice to get over the line tonight. Also looking forward to get another win this Sunday.
Kieron Pollard (MI Cape Town captain): When you win the toss and decide to field, you should surprise the opposition and that's why Thomas Kaber was in the side. We played well in the first game and there was Klaasen's effect and couldn't stop him, had played spinners well in the last 18 months or so. We talk about resilience, last game also we went 200 plus, start in this innings, Jason pounced on us pretty early, was thinking it could be another 200 plus total, but the guys held their nerves and stuck to their plans and that Jason's wicket turn things around. (About openers not losing a wicket in the powerplay) That's good, long may that continue, 170 on the board, it's pressure, nearly lost the wicket but we made use of the chances. Sky is the limit for Rickelton, understands his game and we give that platform to continue. Just want to thank the supporters, they have come out in big numbers.
David Miller (Paarl Royals captain): One of those days, things didn't work out for us and two chances goes down begging, fielding was scratchy, you can't win games if you lose game and credit to them for batting so well but was a good game. We got the start that was needed from the two openers, there was extra-bounce from one side and the big boundaries, they bowled and they reduced us to 170 and I thought 170 was a good effort but with the start we got, we let it slip a bit and one of those games. I'm ok with the finger, I'm all good and it's a little moment thing, was there for a minute or two, but had to get back on. (About Rickelton's form in the season) Great to see someone like that, coming out and performing like that and putting guys to all parts of the ground, rode his luck and batted well. I'll take the responsibility there, I got the hand and should've taken, but was too late and I should've taken. Full faith in the boys, will bounce back.
MI Cape Town won the game by 8 wickets!
MI Cape Town 175-2 after 16.5 overs!
Ryan Rickelton 94(52)* | Rassie van der Dussen 41(28) | Tabraiz Shamsi 4-0-35-2 | Bjorn Fortuin 4-0-34-0
What a thumping win that from MI Cape Town, ever since Roy's wicket, they were always on top of the game and kept pegging away. Another Ryan Rickelton's innings that has helped another win for MI Cape Town, the man is in his form of his life and a lot will depend on him later through the course of the tournament and on how they fare and not to forget his partner, Rassie van der Dussen along with him, they set the tone for this run chase.
Earlier in the run chase, Miller gave a reprieve to Rickelton who made the most of it, but just before the end of the game, Rickelton got another life but he had done the damage already and Royals paid heavy price for those two dropped catches.
Paarl Royals were below par with the ball today, they failed to strike in the powerplay and then didn't contain the run flow and that MI Cape Town kept cruising through to target and having lose just two wickets mean, it was a clinical performance from MICT.
It's the first defeat for Paarl Royals, but they stay firmly at the top of the table, nothing changes for them but they can't afford to lose momentum like they did today and need to find ways to get back into the contest and that's something is a must in a format like this.
16.5 Lungi Ngidi to Ryan Rickelton, SIX! GAME, SET AND MATCH! That's it, MI Cape Town have thrashed Paarl Royals as Royals taste their first defeat of the tournament and MI Cape town got back to winning ways here. Short into the batter, Rickelton swivels and clubbed it all the way over deep square-leg and seals the game in style.
16.4 Lungi Ngidi to Ryan Rickelton, FOUR MORE! Long-off can't get to it in time and there's no stopping this man tonight. Length delivery outside the off-stump, Rickelto reaches for the slower one and flat bats down the ground, goes one bounce into the ropes.
16.3 Lungi Ngidi to Ryan Rickelton, FOUR! Yorker length, wide of off-stump. Rickelton reaches and squeezes it away, that races to the deep cover ropes in flash and it's another boundary for Rickelton.
16.2 Lungi Ngidi to Ryan Rickelton, change of pace, length delivery outside the off-stump. Rickelton too early to swipe, toe ends it into the on-side for a dot.
16.1 Lungi Ngidi to Connor Esterhuizen, back of a length delivery, follows the batter as Esterhuizen backed away, looks to help it away but misses. Buttler with a good dive to his left stops it.
Lungi Ngidi is back, can he conjure some magic?
Another expensive over, two boundaries from it and MI Cape Town are almost there, just need 13 now with four overs to spare.

15.6 Obed McCoy to Ryan Rickelton, short and well outside the off-stump, Rickelton had to reach for it and misses.
15.5 Obed McCoy to Ryan Rickelton, FOUR MORE! Slower one and bowls into the deck again. Short outside the off-stump, Rickelton on top of the bounce, slammed it to deep extra-cover, races away for another boundary.
15.4 Obed McCoy to Ryan Rickelton, FOUR! DROPPED! Wheels are coming off now for the Royals as they drop another catch and it's off Rickelton who gets his second life. Back of a length on the off-stump, Rickelton too early into the pull of the slower one, doesn't get hold of it and van Buuren at wide long-on spills it, to make things worse, it goes past the ropes for a boundary.
15.4 Obed McCoy to Ryan Rickelton, WIDE! McCoy goes completely wayward, full toss and sprays way down the leg-side, called a wide.
15.3 Obed McCoy to Ryan Rickelton, APPEAL FOR CAUGHT BEHIND, NOT GIVEN! Buttler wants this reviewed and so does Miller. Bangs in the short delivery, well directed. Rickelton looks to pull and misses, through to the keeper. Buttler thinks it has taken some glove on it's way.
UltraEdge has nothing off the bat or the glove or the helmet, it's flat line through and through. Royals lose a review with that.
15.2 Obed McCoy to Connor Esterhuizen, pace off, short into the batter. Esterhuizen pulled it all along the turf to deep square-leg for one.
15.1 Obed McCoy to Ryan Rickelton, full and angled on the stumps. Rickelton looks to whack it but mistimes it into the on-side for one.
