A completely one-sided contest to kickstart the inaugural SAT20. Archer did the damage with the ball and picked up three wickets, but in a tough wicket, Brevis played a sumptuous knock to help his team win and claim a bonus point as well. This match didn't surely entertain the neutrals but hope the upcoming games would surely will. On that note, it's time to end the coverage, until next time, this is Pragadeesh and Raghav signing off
Rashid Khan (MI Cape Town Captain) - So happy to start the competition with a win. It's always great for the captain to start his first match on a winning note. The bowling unit that we have is one of the best and as a captain, it's good to have bowlers who can contribute at any stage. Amazing comeback by Archer. When he bowled to us in the nets we realized that he was ready to go. Absolutely, everyone is stepping up and wants to contribute. Brevis played amazing but the way he managed the whole innings was fantastic. I am super excited for the new few weeks to lead these guys and more importantly, learn from them. It's great to see the crowd back and we will try out best to give them what they want
Dewald Brevis (Player of the Match): Firstly, I thank the crowd for the support and I enjoyed batting here. Absolutely grateful for the opportunity to play in front of my home crowd. I enjoyed it again. Me and AB's relationship is key and he was so crucial in my development as a player. He helped me through a lot and gives me the right advice (On Rabada and Livingstone's return) It's not my worry, it's other team's worry
David Miller (Paarl Royals Captain): It was indeed a tough night for us. The batting was much more difficult when we were batting but cannot take anything away from MI Cape Town, they batted incredibly well. The pitch did not change drastically but it did become easier to bat on after the first innings. There were two dropped catches which is never a good sight in T20 cricket. It was pretty good to watch Dewald Brevis (as a South African). Jofra Archer getting back and doing what he does the best is really great for world cricket. We have two days to reflect back and get things right before our next fixture.
MI Cape Town beat Paarl Royals by 8 wickets Dewald Brevis 70(41) | Jos Buttler 51(42) Jofra Archer 3-27 | Ramon Simmonds 1-32(3)
A Dewald Brevis masterclass with the bat helped MI Cape Town to beat Paarl Royals by 8 wickets. The wicket looked hard to bat in the first innings but it got better under the lights as MI Cape Town chased this target with no fuss. Brevis took his time to settle and once he got into a good rhythm he was hard to stop.
He kept smacking the bowlers to his favorite regions, and hardly anyone had the answers to stop his onslaught. Rickelton was given a second chance as Vilas put down a sitter in the first over and he made the Royals pay by scoring 42 off 33 deliveries. Curran was promoted and once Shamsi dropped a caught & bowled chance, he struck a few lusty blows to drag Cape Town close to the target
The inexperience in the Royals' bowling attack was evident in some periods of the game as they didn't really make a match out of it.

15.1 Bjorn Fortuin to Rassie van der Dussen, SIX! Rassie joins the party now. Cape Town are just two runs away. In the slot and around the off-stump line, Rassie skips down the track and clubs it over the long on fielder for a maximum!
Bjorn Fortuin (3-0-15-0) comes back into the attack
No matter where the bowlers hits his spots, Brevis has been hammering them straight down the ground. And for a change, he flicked one towards deep backward square leg before crushing the length delivery towards extra cover

14.6 Codi Yusuf to Dewald Brevis, full, wide, shaping away. Brevis swings hard on the off-side but this time he fails to get any bat on ball
14.5 Codi Yusuf to Dewald Brevis, FOUR MORE! This is carnage. Short of a length on off, Brevis gives himself some room and whacks it over the covers for a boundary!

14.1 Codi Yusuf to Sam Curran, OUT! Curran's cameo comes to an end. Length delivery on the middle, Yusuf took pace off the ball. Curran was lured to take it on and he mistimed his slash. It was in the air for a while but Miller made no mistake in completing the catch at deep midwicket.
