The SA20 continues mesmerising all of us - making it wonderful for people like us bringing all the action to your devices. This is Dwaipayan Mukherjee, signing off with my co-commentator Rajarshi Das. See you all soon!
Hope you have got enough time to catch your breath after this astounding finish. All roads lead to Paarl tomorrow as David Miller's men host last year's semi-finalists led by Faf Du Plessis - Johannesburg Super Kings. Paarl Royals scored 210 in their last game, with skipper Miller and 25 year old Mitchell Van Buuren putting up great knocks. Join us for that one!
Jordan Hermann | Player of the Match: Very thankful to contribute to the win. Absolutely blank, I had no idea how I got there, probably ecstatic. I have been given a lot of freedom because of our long batting line-up and I am enjoying that. Very grateful to the team management for believing in me.
Aiden Markram, Sunrisers Eastern Cape captain : Very happy. Great game of cricket for the crowd that turned up. It was nice to be part of it and nice to be on the winning side. I was nervous in the last over. The boys put in the yards and did their best. Baartman executed his plans and delivered. We thought of hitting the wicket hard and he executed that well in the middle. Jordan Hermann was fantastic. I was chatting to him and he doesn't know what happened today. I am stoked for him tonight. He picked his pockets and targeted the right bowlers. Just 22 years of age and great to see what he produced tonight.
Kieron Pollard, MI Cape Town captain: I'm just enjoying cricket. Haven't been seen much, I think it's about letting guys know from my experience, letting them inculcate a culture on how to play T20 cricket and how to go about it. Three games on the bounce, laying the foundation for us. They came out and did a fantastic job. Losing a couple of wickets in the middle overs saw the run rate creeped up a bit more than we would have wanted. Good game of cricket overall, the young guy (Jordan Hermann) batted really well in the first innings to get a hundred, Dawid Malan as well. Once the wickets are good, we get to see good strokes and a good game overall. Haven't bowled for about 6-8 months, coming off a shoulder injury. Man's still has sort of something in him! For us, it's about trying to seize momentum. I thought it was a par total, at one point they were in for 215-220. We were very confident going into the last over. Connor hasn't batted much, Sam, promoted up the order, looked to negate that left-arm spin. Yes we ended up the second-best side, but there are learnings we took.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape (202/2) defeat MI Cape Town by 4 runs (198/5)
Ryan Rickelton 58 (33) | Rassie van der Dussen 41 (28) Ottneil Baartman - 3/35 | Liam Dawson - 1/33
It has been an absolutely sensational game of cricket! Jordan Hermaan with the bat and Ottneil Baartman's heroics have ensured that they end up on the right side of the result. This was terrific entertainment. The better side won and it could also have gone into a Super Over.
It was another century stand for the MI Cape Town, the openers have been the men in form but Sunrisers Eastern Cape found a hero in Ottneil Baartman who held his own in this very intense battle.
Pollard and Curran got the home crowd going. It almost felt as though they would finish the game but when the MICT skipper got dismissed in the penultimate over, the direction of the match changed again. No one could say for certainty at any point of time in the game that who would win this affair that had plenty of plot twists woven into it.

19.6 Ottneil Baartman to Sam Curran, Ottneil Baartman wins it for the Sunrisers Eastern Cape! He holds his nerve, sticks to his leg-stump yorker, and does the job! This one wasn't quite at the blockhole, landed outside leg stump, Curran had a swing at it, couldn't connect and was struck on the pads! The home crowd are stunned into silence as the Sunrisers Eastern Cape clinch their first win of their 2024 SA20 campaign!
19.5 Ottneil Baartman to Connor Esterhuizen, full toss, outside off stump, Esterhuizen heaves at it with all his might, can only slice it towards deep backward point. Only one... 5 needed off the last ball
What a stage for young Connor Esterhuizen - 6 needed from 2 balls!
19.4 Ottneil Baartman to Sam Curran, the leg stump yorker, and Baartman nails this one! Curran gets an inside edge onto pad, and the pair jog across for a run. There's no bat on it, actually, leg byes given
7 runs needed from 3 balls! Can the bowler keep his calm?
19.4 Ottneil Baartman to Sam Curran, wide, the attempted yorker, but Baartman sprays this one down the leg side!
8 runs needed from 3 balls, Super Over possible? Curran on strike and he would think of connecting 2 shots and seal the deal for his side.
19.3 Ottneil Baartman to Connor Esterhuizen, the attempted wide yorker, Esterhuizen drills it straight to the man at cover and they run across for a quick one
19.2 Ottneil Baartman to Connor Esterhuizen, wide yorker, Esterhuizen can't get bat on this one. Good comeback from Baartman!
19.1 Ottneil Baartman to Connor Esterhuizen, SIX! Only just! Another full toss on offer, this one being outside off, Esterhuizen has a swing at it, makes good contact, the height is good, and there's enough distance to clear the man and ropes at cow corner!
15 runs needed from 6 balls! Sam Curran turned down the single and backed it up with a six that brings the equation down, what will 22 year old Connor Esterhuizen do for MICT? Is he giving strike to the Curran who is batting at 37 from 20 balls. Or does he show courage and take the bowling down?

18.6 Daniel Worrall to Sam Curran, SIX! So that's why he didn't take the single, he wanted a piece of Worrall! Worrall misses his yorker once again, ends up offering a full toss outside off. Curran, having moved across, has a swing at it, connects well, and sends the white projectile into the grass banks at long on!
