That's it from here for the ILT20 for the night. Tomorrow we have a double-header coming up. Do join us then and keep following Sportskeeda for more. Till then take care and be well. Bye.
Muhammad Waseem | Player of the Match: Very happy with my performance. I was trying to play my natural game. I am always working hard for the sides I play. I've been practising to play on the off-side and all around the ground.
Kieron Pollard | Emirates captain: It was a good wicket. I thought the guys got a good start and we kept the momentum going throughout the innings. Waseem has been good, I saw him in the T10 and the scouting has been there. You can continue to win or lose, but we need to be consistent and not complacent.
Moeen Ali | Warriors captain: We weren't sure of how the pitch will play in the first game. Woakes was fantastic. They showed us how to play on that wicket. Gurbaz showed us how to bat on that wicket. At one point, I thought they would get 220 but we dragged it back.
Match summary: MI Emirates won by 49 runs.
Innings summary: Sharjah Warriors 155/9 in 20 overs
Chris Woakes 62 | Rahmanullah Gurbaz 43
Imran Tahir 3/26.
A comprehensive win for MI Emirates. They were set on their way with Fazalhaq Farooqi taking two in two early on.
The English quartet of Mo Ali, Joe Denly, TKC and Malan could not contribute and Gurbaz was alone at one end, trying his best.
Tahir helped himself to 3 wickets and some amusing CR7 Siuuuuuuuu celebrations as the game was done and dusted around the 14th over.
Chris Woakes though had fun as MI tried Waseem and Fletcher, Woakes hit lusty blows to reach 62 to add respectability to the score.
Stay tuned for the presentation.
