The ball flew over the ropes on quite a few occasions towards the back end of the innings, but it was a touch too late for the Eagles' liking! A disciplined bowling effort from the Mon Repos Stars see them prevail in this intriguing encounter in the end. Barring Mervin Wells, we didn't see too many fireworks from the Eagles top-order, which saw the game drift away from them. As it turned out, Murlan Sammy's arrival to the centre came a bit too late.

Shawnil Edward, Keon Gaston and Shadrack Descartes ensured that the Eagles weren't able to make the most of the powerplay, choking down on the runs with Gaston nipping out an out-of-sorts Shervin Charles. Wells then started to connect, but the boundaries were few and far in between. Daren Sammy, nursing a leg injury, walked out to rescue his team from a precarious position, but he struggled to influence the game quite a lot.

Mervin Wells' wicket in the penultimate over seemed to be the death knell for the Eagles. Murlan Sammy and Sanjay Pamphile did strike a few off the middle, but it was simply not enough. In the end, Mon Repos Stars took the game by 13 runs.
