That's all we have from this game. The third match of the evening will get underway short, switch tabs to follow that game. This has been Lavil Saldanha alongside Rajarshi Das, we hope you enjoyed our coverage and look forward to seeing you soon. ADIOS!
Moeen Ali (captain, Morrisville Samp Army): Good performance, we needed a win. I found the conditions all right, bowled to might strength and that's how the wickets. We needed the win to keep the spirits high. We need to keep winning and qualify and then see what happens. When bowling to right-handers, you know you are going to be hit for boundaries but could also pick up wickets. So I used my brains a bit and got the wickets
Andries Gous is the Player Of The Match! Here's what he has to say: It wasn't an easy wicket, had to work hard at the beginning, it got a little easier at the end. One guy had to make sure to bat through. My shoe got stuck when I tried to dive. Luckily, it's okay. You got to give credit to their batters, they really batted well at the end. I don't think we executed as well as we wanted to, got to give credit where it's due.
Morrisville Samp Army beat Chennai Braves by 7 wickets
Morrisville Samp Army: 99/3 after 9.5 overs
Andries Gous: 43(26b) | Faf du Plessis: 31(16b) Junaid Siddique: 1/18(2 overs) | Mohammad Nabi: 1/19(2 overs)
What a chase for the Morrisville Samp Army, who win their first game of the tournament. Kudos to Chennai Braves, who have given a tough fight but it doesn't end in their favour. Samp Army, with this win, has now climbed up to the 6th place in the points table.
Andries Gous and Faf du Plessis started off slowly but the duo picked up some serious pace, with du Plessis taking the bowlers to the cleaners and smashing them to all the corners of the park. du Plessis lost his wicket, but Gous kept the tempo and went all out against the bowlers.
It looked like a one sided win before the Braves dismissed Moeen Ali, Faf du Plessis and Andries Gous towards the end. Najibullah Zadran too was gone for all money but the umpire ruling the decision in his favour ended well for the Samp Army as he ended the game with a maximum.
It was a good bowling show from the Chennai Braves. Nabi and Junaid Siddique were the only bowlers to pick up a wicket. The other bowlers also did well to build the pressure but the target was too low for them to emerge as victors in this contest. Let's now go down to the presentation ceremony
9.5 Obed McCoy to Najibullah Zadran, SIX! Najibullah finishes things off smoothly eventually! Slower ball, banged in on the deck outside off, Zadran waited for the ball to come, gave it a thump across the line, and went on to clear the ropes at mid wicket by some distance! The Morrisville Samp Army get their first win of the campaign with a ball to spare!
9.4 Obed McCoy to Karim Janat, slower ball, banged in on the deck, Janat looked to mow it across, made no contact. The batters scamper through for a bye
6 runs from 3 balls! The new batter, Janat on strike. Pace on, Pace off, what will McCoy bowl now?
9.3 Obed McCoy to Najibullah Zadran, full outside off, Zadran looked to smash this one down the ground, didn't quite time it, found the man at long off on the bounce. Just one
7 runs in 4 deliveries. Good variations from McCoy so far, can he keep it up and defend the total?
9.2 Obed McCoy to Najibullah Zadran, back of the hand slower ball, Zadran was early on it. Misses it completely
There was a sound as the ball passed the bat and Najibullah Zadran was almost on his way back. Replays show he had got a good chunk of bat. Najibullah Zadran survives!
9.1 Obed McCoy to Najibullah Zadran, loud appeal for a caught behind, not given! This was full, close to the tramline, Zadran looked to smash it over cover, there was a definite noise as the ball passed the bat, Zadran started walking, in fact, but the umpire was unmoved!
9.1 Obed McCoy to Najibullah Zadran, wide, slower delivery on a good length, ends up past the tramline
Obed McCoy (1-0-9-0) comes back into the attack and will be bowling to Najibullah Zadran on strike
Karim Janat, RHB, walks out to the middle and will be down at the non strikers end
Some brilliance from Asalanka in the field to end Gous's stay. There was never a run there and Najib was wrong with calling Gous for the single. Game on in the last over. Morrisville Samp Army need 8 runs to win in 6 deliveries

8.6 Aayan Afzal Khan to Najibullah Zadran, direct hit, and Gous might be short - HE IS! Yorker on off stump, Zadran drills it straight to the man at cover, the batters risk a single as the fielder fires a throw at the keeper's and hits the stumps! Replays show that Gous was just short as he tried to slide his bat in!
Andries Gous run out (Charith Asalanka) 43(26b,3x4,2x6)
8.5 Aayan Afzal Khan to Andries Gous, Aayan fires this one full once again, Gous bunts it towards long on. Just a single
