The Blasters were always at par with the run rate, and this is what helped them in the end. The Warriors, although tight in their bowling performance, need to focus harder on where they can improve. They have been good in the field, and that is a very big positive. The Blasters too were more than decent with the ball, as keeping a time filled with big hitters such as the Warriors down to 79 in ten overs is no mean task.

While chasing this total down, the Blasters seemed like they would be in for a tough time until the fifth over, but the sixth, bowled by medium pacer Tony Louis, changed things completely for them. Skipper and wicketkeeper-batsman Gaurav Maithani was responsible in no small way for his side getting over the line, and once the total came down to a run a ball, even the strongest of the supporters of the Warriors stopped believing in their cause.

The Warriors need to introspect and make sure that they bat better in their next game. Although the Blasters were defeated by the Warriors in the first game played between the two teams today, they turned the tables in the second and ensured that they go home today with big smiles on their faces. Skipper Maithani will be the happiest of the lot, not least because he helped his side go over the line.
