Msida Warriors beat Southern Crusaders via the Golden Ball!
Shijil Joy 46 (36)* | Zeshan Yousaf 2/7 Ryan Bastiansz 37 (20) | Vipin Mohan 1/5
It had to go down to the Golden Ball to separate these two teams. The Crusaders did their best to prevent the Warriors from running away with the game, and they proved to be successful to an extent, but in the end, fortune favoured the brave, and Ajin Soman sealed the deal for his side.
One has to feel for the fielder who dropped the catch off the Golden Ball but that is what pressure does to the best of men. The Warriors, however, will need to improve upon their batting performance. Their captain Shijil Joy batted through the innings but quite unconvincingly, and he needs to up his scoring rate.
Zeshan Yousaf did extremely well for the Crusaders, and deserves full credit for his bowling figures. As a matter of fact, both these teams bowled exceedingly well, and are about to take each other on in another clash in about ten minutes' time. This game ended up going the Warriors' way, but the Crusaders are sure to try and get their revenge in the game coming up next.
GOLDEN BALL 0.1 Basil George to Ajin Soman, fullish outside off, Soman swings it towards deep midwicket. The catch goes straight down the throat of the fielder stationed there, who puts it down! Ajin Soman crosses over for a brace, and the Warriors win! The Msida Warriors beat Southern Crusaders via the Golden Ball!
For the uninitiated, here's the rule for the Golden Ball- the batting side need to score two runs off one ball. If that does not happen, the fielding side will win.
