Jasprit Bumrah is the Player of the Match: Nothing special, but just tried to have fun, and enjoy my game while bowling. That's the best feeling, when I'm trying to do that, and very happy with how the last game went. The wicket is usually quite fast here with some pace and bounce. But this quite was slow, and the bounce was low and there was a bit of grip. We quickly analyzed that. There wasn't much swing, so we assessed the conditions and tried to execute our plans. All those assessments were made on the ground and we did well. My role is to help the youngsters out. Whenever you are new to the game and coming up the ranks, you need to learn a lot. I try to help the youngsters as much as I can. There's a lot of pressure in the heat of the moment and from outside as well, with a lot of expectations. We tried to help them as much as we can to give them a good atmosphere (in the dressing room). There's a lot that goes on behind. Improving your game is a yearly process, it doesn't stop. Even if you play for 20 years, you keep on improving. So, we do keep in touch with the players and see how everyone's going before we meet next year. We try to analyse and come back strong next year. Nothing was there in my head. I was very happy with my rhythm after coming back from the two Test matches against Sri Lanka. I was happy to stick to my processes and the execution. After the ball is released from my hand, I can't do much. Somedays you a bad day. I just tried to keep things simple, and execute as much as I can.

Rohit Sharma: I said it at the toss as well. We were here to win the game. For us, it was important for us to get something out of this game and finish on a high. Once we lost eight in the trot, it was tough. It's never easy when you lose games like that. All we wanted to do was just come and see where we made those mistakes and rectify them. I thought we did pretty well in the second half of the tournament. A lot of positives came out of it. That's something we can pride ourselves on. We just wanted to finish on a high. When they got to 160, I was a little nervous because it wasn't a 160 pitch. There was a lot of help for the bowlers as we saw in the first innings. It was slow and sluggish towards the end as well but when you restrict an opposition to around 150-160, it's about one good partnership. That's what happened with Ishan and Brevis with their fifty partnership. We didn't get off to a good start but they got us back into a good situation. To be honest, there are a lot of things that we didn't do well. It's the collective performance that gets you through and that was something that was missing. We didn't come together as a group and perform. Some days it was the batters doing well and batters not cashing in and vice versa. When you want to win tournaments, you've got to come collectively and perform in all three departments. That's something we missed in the first half but the second half was brilliant. We came to the party, a bit too late but at least we can take something from this tournament. Every time we go into the action, we keep one eye on players who can play for us for a couple of cycles and invest in them. They might not come good in the first or second season. We try and give a few youngsters a chance who can represent their own country and come and play for Mumbai as well. That's what we pride ourselves on. Congratulations to RCB. All four teams have played consistent cricket and I would just like to wish them the best for this playoffs. May the best team win. For us, a bit disappointing but we came back pretty well into the tournament.

Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals Captain): I think most of the game, we were on top. On a few occasions when we were on top we let it slip out of our grasp. That's what we've been doing throughout the tournament. It's not about pressure but at the same time we could have executed better and had better planning. We were missing that a lot this tournament. We'll learn from our mistakes and come back stronger next year. I think we were 5-7 runs short. We weren't short by much but we bowled well throughout the tournament. Dew came in towards the latter half of the game and we missed our execution with the ball. It's hard but we have to take it on our chin and learn from it. (On the review that wasn't taken) I thought there was something but everyone in the circle wasn't convinced enough. I asked if we should go up but in the end we didn't take the review. (What was the discussion with Ponting during the timeout?) We just discussed to tell the bowlers to keep it simple and do things that were working well for us.

Tim David: It's nice to finish with a win. It's a good win and we couldn't ask for much. Ishan as he walked off said to me that the wicket's got flat. The slower ones were holding up but you had to hold your shape and back yourself. There were a couple of baby sixes today so I got away with a couple. It was about holding your shape - maybe earlier in the season I was holding back on the ball a little bit so I was working on that. Happy with the result. It's been tough but our last six games we've played some really good cricket as a team. We've won four games in those so we've got some confidence going forward. I got a message from Faf this morning - it was him, Virat and Maxi in MI colors. Now I've got to post something on Instagram (laughs). (Did he know he nicked the first ball?) I heard a noise but I wasn't sure if I nicked it. I thought it might have been off the pad but I had some luck.

Ee Saala Cup Namdeeee! Royal Challengers Bangalore are through to the playoffs and still in the hunt for their elusive IPL title, and it was the former RCB player that's helped them get over the line. As for the Delhi Capitals, their wait for their first title extends to another season. It was a tough season for them with all the off-field issues they had to go through, and it's been a strong effort from them throughout the tournament. That, however, will only be a consolation for Rishabh Pant and his men.

After a disastrous start with the bat, it was the skipper alongside Powell, who got their side to what seemed like a par total at the halfway stage. Khaleel started off the run chase in his usual fashion, keeping things tight early on. Nortje accounted for the MI skipper early, but Kishan and Brevis steadied the ship for their side. The two showed immense maturity in the middle in their 51-run stand to get MI back on track.

Kuldeep broke the game open by dismissing Kishan, and could (should) have dismissed Brevis in the same over, if it wasn't for Pant dropping a dolly. The night got progressively worse for the DC captain, who didn't opt for a review on a nick from David, which proved to be the fatal blow. The former RCB man went berserk like he usually does, to seal the deal for his former and current franchise on their home ground.

A campaign to forget for the Delhi Capitals as they bow out of the tournament. It's one of those tough losses that might take a while to get over. As for RCB, they will be on the flight to Kolkata to play in the playoffs. Rohit Sharma helps Virat Kohli make it to the playoffs. Meanwhile, my bosses from Bangalore might owe me some sweets. Anyway, I'll go get that sorted, while we wait for the presentations!

Ricky Ponting is shell-shocked. Mitch Marsh is on his haunches and it's a stunned DC unit that doesn't know where to go or where to look. Their fans are bemused as well.
