The Netherlands XI did go down eventually, but not before putting up a spirited fight. There have been much, much larger margins of losses with first innings scores lesser than the one put up by England XI today, and that is something that incites fear among other teams in regard of this Netherlands XI batting line-up. Every single Dutch batter, from 1 to 11, had the intention of shortening the target by as much as possible, trying to clear the ropes.

Despite the early loss of Musa Ahmad, Clayton Floyd got his team off to a spectacular start, and the run rate after two overs was almost at par with the initial required rate. But then, after Floyd fell in the last over of the powerplay itself, it was as if someone pulled the plug on the Netherlands XI run-chase, the feeling was that no one else would be able to keep going at the rate the left-arm spin bowling all-rounder was. Ryan Klein tried to do so, he hit some monstrous ones that cleared the dugouts by fair margins, but it was not to be. There were some contributions from the lower order as well, and in the end, the Netherlands XI were bundled out for 131.

9.3 Sam Pearce to Udit Nashier, That's brings us to the end of the encounter. Was a slowish length delivery around off. Nashier tries to force this away towards the off side but gets nowhere close to the connection he was after. Hits him on the splice of the bat and an easy catch for the short cover fielder.
