Commentary

It's been a splendid day if you are an ECC fan. Except for the first match, the other four matches went down to the wire. In fact, the last two were edge-of-the-seat thrillers as it went down to the final ball to determine the winner.

It's a heartbreaking defeat for Hungary. Ravindran got to face just a solitary ball in the last over. After a flying start, Hungary were really cruising at one point but Zulfiqar's spell turned the tide as he conceded just five runs in two overs. Ravindran and Kukikhel fired on all cylinders in the powerplay but they struggled to get going once the spinners came on.

Boissevain too bowled well in the middle overs. It's a game of so many ebbs and flows but with 9 runs needed in the final over and with the well-set Ravindran at the crease, it was clearly advantage to Hungary. But Braat bowled a superb over, coupled with some majestic fielding from the Dutch, shattered the Hungarian hopes in the end. FYI, they lost the close match against Finland earlier in the day
