Match Summary:
New Zealand won the match by 44 runs (DLS Method)
Will Young 105 (84) | Shofirul Islam 2/28 (6) Anamul Haque 43 (39) | Josh Clarkson 2/24 (4)
That looks like a comfortable win for New Zealand but throughout the day they were tested by Bangladesh. Earlier in the day, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field first.
They got two early wickets and had the home team struggling in the very first over. However, Will Young and Tom Latham (92 off 77) stabilised the ship for the team. They stitched a partnership of 171 runs and set up the stage for the lower order batters.
Bangladesh was looking to attack with their bowlers and as a result were left wanting after the second rain break. They ran out of bowling options and the Kiwi batters took full toll of the not so regular death bowlers. At the end of their allotted 30 overs (reduced due to rain), New Zealand had posted 237 runs on the board for the loss of seven wickets. The target was revised under the DLS method to 244 for Bangladesh.
In the chase, Bangladesh lost Soumya Sarkar early. But Najmul Hossain Shanto and Anamul Haque stabilised the proceedings for the team. But after the fall of Shanto, Bangladesh failed to get together an impactful partnership. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and as a result kept falling away from the target. Afif Hossain played a cameo of 38 from 28 and kept the hopes alive for some time but it was not enough.
In the end, Bangladesh managed to score 200 in their 30 overs and lost the game by 44 runs.

29.3 William Rourke to Hasan Mahmud, Full and at the off-stump. Pushed to extra cover for a quick single. A direct hit at the bowler's end would have been interesting.
29.2 William Rourke to Hasan Mahmud, Good length delivery at the stumps. Mahmud stays back and drops it to point. It's a small mix-up, but in the end, life is okay for the two batters. Ravindra misses the shya the bowler's end.

A good spell comes to an end for Duffy. That over has confirmed that New Zealand have won this game.

That was a good over for Bangladesh. But the equation now is 52 off 12 deliveries. It is practically out of reach for Bangladesh.
