Nicosia Tigers couldn't get off to the best of the starts as they lost too many wickets in the first half of the innings. They kept losing wickets in the middle and the required rate quickly jumped up to double digit mark and so forth. No batter from the Tigers line up scored more than 16 runs while only two managed to score in double digits. It was a complete sorry show from the Tigers and have failed to chase the steep target in front of them.

Sri Lankan Lions have done exceedingly well with the ball as they maintained discipline right through the innings. They bowled straight at the stumps and asked the batters to take the risk of going across the line. Chamal Sadun was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets in two overs for just 11 runs. Buddika Mahesh provided the mcuh needed start for his team picking 3 early wickets in the innings and set the tone of the innings for others to follow. Kamal Raiz also picked 3 wickets in his two overs at the dying stages of the innings.

This victory takes the Sri Lankan Lions to the joint 3rd position in the points table while Nicosia Tigers maintain their 2nd position although their net run rate took a big hit which already was in negative mark. Nicosia Tigers are done with the league stage and now have to wait for the other teams to finish the matches which decides their fate of qualification to the semifinal stage of the tournament. With this win, Sri Lankan Lions have good chance of qualifying to the next stage of the tournament as they will look to keep the winning momentum going into the crucial stages of the tournament.
