Nicosia Fighters 108/1 8.4 overs Abdullah Al Tasmin 43*(20) | Waqar Ali 1/17 Kamrul Mahmud *42(25) |
The Nicosia Fighters have registered their first win of the tournament and it was on the back of some sensible and exceptional timing and placements by the duo of Kamrul Mahmud and Abdullah Al Tasmin. They were never really challenged during the chase and played the situation beautifully. After the fall of the opening wicket, Tasmin and Mahmud took the onus on themselves to get the job done for the team.
They played proper cricketing shots and never looked to hit the ball too hard. They batted with precision and found the boundaries at crucial junctures which never really allowed the required rate to creep up. While Tasmin smashed 7 fours and a six during his unbeaten 20 ball 43, Kamrul Mahmud smashed 4 fours and a couple of sixes en route to the undefeated 42 off 25 deliveries.
8.4 Gurwinder Singh to Abdullah Al Tasmin, FOUR! Tasmin finishes it off in style, Back of a length delivery on the pads, clipped away off his hips past the short fine leg fielder and it races away to the fence.
8.3 Gurwinder Singh to Kamrul Mahmud, on a fuller-length and that has been sliced away of the top edge down towards the long-on region and takes a single.
8.2 Gurwinder Singh to Abdullah Al Tasmin, on a length around off, reverse swept down towards third man and takes a single.
8.1 Gurwinder Singh to Kamrul Ahmed, worked away off a fuller-length around middle down towards deep square and takes a single.
8.1 Gurwinder Singh to Kamrul Mahmud, Gurwinder starts off with a wide, well down the leg side and he has to reload that.
Gurwinder Singh [1.0-0-10-0] comes back into the attack.
The luck is running on the side of Nicosia Fighters and they're just 4 runs shy of their first victory this season! With two overs to go , they are certain to cruise to a victory from here.
