So that is that. After close to a month of intense action, we now know that the England men's team are the holders of both the 50-over and 20-over World Cup titles. Andddd that's stumps. November 13, 2021 - the eve of the final between Australia and New Zealand to see who would claim the Men's T20 World Cup crown from the West Indies. The Aussies did it and it was time for their old enemy to lift it on Aussie shores this time around. It's been quite a ride and in a year's time, we will see teams contest for the coveted 50-over World Cup crown. Safe to say that T20s will take a backseat in the eyes of teams as preparations shift largely towards fine-tuning their ODI setup and there's loads to look forward to in that regard. But what a tournament we've had - from the Associates and lesser fancied Test teams pulling off one upset after another to an epic age-old rivalry between two sub-continental giants. From a hilarious build-up around a fake Mr. Bean to the land of the real one clinching the whole thing in the end. From rain washing out games for fun at the MCG to the rain Gods staying away to witness a smooth final, it had it all. Quite a lot to look back on and you can be rest assured that it will carry on for a day or two. Needless to say, this tournament in Australia was a smashing hit and the next edition in the Caribbean and the United States has a task on hand to make it even bigger and better. That's for 2024 though...

Adil Rashid is mic'd up with Star Sports: It feels great, You can't describe it. To get over the line the way we did, it's a great feeling. The seamers, the spinners - we gel well as a team. To restrict them to 137 on a decent pitch I thought we did really well. (On Ben Stokes) He's tremendous. He bats, bowls and fields. (On Buttler as captain) He's been tremendous. The more he plays and captains the more comfortable he gets. Very similar to Eoin Morgan in terms of being very level-headed and composed. Especially the game against Ireland and the way we came back, he was very mature. (The talks in the dressing room) He just keeps it simple.

Here's Moeen Ali as well: Very proud of him (Sam Curran) tonight. He's a young player. He loves the big occasion and has only got better and better. He's got a lot to come, with ball and bat. The consistency and selection were there. The management changed but we kept doing the same things. The last two games of the tournament against two teams that play spin well. He (Rashid) turned up for those games and he's certainly the best leg spinner in the world.

And now, Jos Buttler walks up to the dais collect the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. They had a chance to win it for the second time in 2016 until the West Indies denied them. Not this time - it's the Three Lions who are the champions of the world. It was on these very shores that their clueless approach to the white ball game hit its deepest abyss in 2015. Well over seven years later, they are the holders of both the Men's 50-over and 20-over World Cups. Life has come a full circle for England and its players, some of whom were also part of the ignominy of 2015. They've etched themselves into folklore with the glory of 2022 though. The players are sharing the moment with their partners and the coaching staff is given a moment to pose with the trophy themselves. Absolutely beautiful scenes and the celebrations deserve to go hard and long into the night.

Time to hear from England captain, Jos Buttler: To be able to win the T20 World Cup, we're immensely proud. Matthew (Mott) has been there as well, hasn't he? We've got a few Australians in the backroom staff. been away for a while. He's led the coaching staff fantastically and gives them freedom. Allows us to go out there and express ourselves. We didn't see this coming after the Ireland game. (Rashid's wicket-maiden) That's a huge swing in the game. That was a fantastic over from Adil (Rashid). He is the guy we turn to when we need something. After a sedate start to the tournament, he came to the party. (Something on offer for the pacers) When you hit the right length, there was a bit of seam movement. It certainly wasn't easy at all. We got off to a decent start and had enough batting in the tank. (Ben Stokes) He's the ultimate competitor in anything he does. He can take a lot on his shoulders. We wanted him to go a bit early but he timed it perfectly alongside Moeen Ali to take us over the line.

And now, it's time for the winners to receive their medals. A cavalier team led by a maverick batter in his own right and it's the crowning glory for England. They have been magnificent, make no mistake about it. Putting that gutting defeat against Ireland aside to flip their campaign around and go the distance, it has been quite a journey for Jos Buttler and Co. Oh, what about Matthew Mott? Two World Cups in a year across different formats - pretty easy eh, this coaching job?

Time to hear from the Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam: First of all congratulations to the England team. They played brilliantly and fought well. It feels like home here - everyone has come and supported us. Thank you for coming over and supporting us. The way the team fought back in the last four matches has been unbelievable. All the credit to my team for that. I passed the message to the boys to play our natural game and with freedom. But I think we were 25 runs short. Our bowling is one of the best in the world. The way we started in the first six overs (was great) but unfortunately Shaheen got injured. It happens though in this game.

Sam Curran officially gets awarded for being the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament. Ramiz Raja, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, now confers the medals to the runners-up. They lit up this tournament did Pakistan - from that epic against India to the Fake Bean Derby to then flipping their fortunes around in a manner that only they could, it was archetypal of a Pakistani cricket team campaign. The heart and fire they showed to not give up, even on the big night, deserves a doff of the hat and they were superb as they picked up a head of steam. The wait continues for a second T20 World Cup title but looking at the plethora of exciting talent at their disposal, this team could be on to special things in time to come.

I don't think I should be getting this. Stokesy there has been the man for the occasion so many times for us. There are big square boundaries, so I knew bowling into the pitch would work. It was a challenging chase with the ball nipping around for them. I go into the wickets with my slower ones to keep the batters guessing. We're World champions. How good? It's incredibly special. He (Stokes) is someone I always look up to. he always turns up when the team needs him. People question him sometimes but there's no questioning him. He's the man. I'm lost for words. It has been a great tournament for us. It's my first World Cup and we're going to enjoy this. Coming into this tournament, I wanted to be adaptable. I haven't bowled at the death a lot so I wanted to take that role up. Even with the bat, there aren't many chances with these guys in the batting order but I want to keep improving as much as possible. For now, we're world champions.
