Omaima Sohail, Player of the Match: I didn't expect this (the five-wicket haul) at all, but it was a wonderful experience. I backed myself to bowl in the right areas and everything seemed to come off. My plan was very simple- to contain the runs. Eventually, it helped me get my line and length straight. Looking forward to the semifinal.

Bismah Maroof, captain of Pakistan: We are prepared for the semifinal now. We did well both with the bat and ball. Omaima's performance needs to be applauded. Their batters were positive right from the start and dominated us, but our bowlers fought back well. We know that we have to work better on finishing the game off, but Ayesha Naseem is a proper game-changer.

Chamari Athapaththu, captain of Sri Lanka: I am happy about my own performance but not satisfied with the team's. We did not carry on with the momentum that we achieved earlier, and we need to work hard on that. I have always told the girls to always play positively and without any fear. The score we put up was not enough; we have to put up more on the board in the semifinal.

Pakistan win it comfortably in the end. Only the first six overs of the Sri Lankan batting belonged to them. After that it was a Pakistan show. 5 wicket haul for Sohail to restrict Lanka to 112.

The openers were off to a good start, 28 from 4 overs. Then a few quick wickets had Pakistan were in trouble at 51/4, then came the partnership of Nida Dar and Aliya Riaz, the 45 run partnership helped Pakistan get close to the target. Then came in the power hitter, Naseem with 16 required off the last two overs, she ended the game with 2 huge sixes in that over itself.

The bowlers bowled well to keep it tight till the end, but they fell 10-15 runs short in the first innings. Dilhari with 2 important wickets, Ranasinghe, Ranaweera and Kulasuriya with a wicket each. Athapaththu gave herself one over and went for 12 runs, that took the pressure off Pakistan.

These two teams will meet again in the Semi Finals and the winner will meet the winner of India and Thailand. A rest day for the players, as we will be back with the semis on thursday.
