2:54 AM IST | The match has been abandoned!! Both teams share one point each.
Evin Lewis 30(14) | Dexter Sween 1/8 (2) Tion webster 25* (12) | Christopher Vincent 2/7 (1)
Call it a tactical move or call it poor sportsmanship, Eric Garcia has managed to enforce a stalemate. After two massive sixes, the Ibis Scorchers were just six runs shy of a triumph. The bowler took his leisure time to bowl the next ball and eventually did after repeated chats with the umpire which eventually costed two runs.
Soon, the showers arrived and in a heavy manner, compelling the players to move out of the ground, resulting it in a draw.
After a monotonous halt in play due to rain the Ibis Scorchers required to chase 52 runs in five overs. The chase kicked off in a dramatic fashion after Christopher Vincent removed big fishes - Joshua Da Silva and Joshua Ramdoo on consecutive deliveries.
Tion Webster and Vikesh Harrylochan stabilised the ship with the former caressing some boundaries now and then. Then, both batters extracted 14 runs off the third over, curtailing the equation down to 21 needed off the last 2 overs.
halfway through the third over, bowled by Eric Garcia, Vikesh Harrylochan smacked two back-to-back sixes to minimise the equation - 6 needed off 8 balls. Garcia withdrew from his run-up several times, and inviting the rain to come and scamper around the park. He eventually succeeded in this strategy, resulting in an abandoned affair.
Earlier, the Buccaneers managed to pile up 81 runs on the board at the end of 8.5 overs before rain played a part.
It all started off with a decent over from Dexter Sween baring three wide deliveries. Kjorn Ottley, who opened alongside Evin Lewis failed to get along and ate up many balls. However, his partner managed to make up for that, smacking three sixes and two fours in his innings of 30 off 14 balls.
After a lengthy weather delay, Lewis was outsmarted by Sween and vouchsafed by Da Silva, giving the Scorchers a chance to retake the lead. Christopher Vincent and Adrian Cooper failed to up the ante for the next couple of overs but ended up whacking a six each before the former was dismissed and rain paused the play. They ended the tally at 81/4 after 8.5 overs.
2:51 AM IST | The rain has appeared once again and it is getting heavier. The game has to be a five overs contest to the least. So what does the outcome stand? Abandoned or a winner via dls? We shall let you know.
3.5 Eric Garcia to Vikesh Harrylochan, dropped! There's a bit of a mix up over a third run, but no harm was done! Garcia landed it in the blockhole close to the tramline, Harrylochan sliced the ball high up towards deep cover, the man out there came in, but failed to latch on!
Garcia is taking his time to bowl while the showers are coming near the ground. This is poor sportsmanship from Garcia. He is taking his own sweet time for the shower to come so that the umpire can abandon the game.
One more lusty blow and that would be victory!!
3.4 Eric Garcia to Vikesh Harrylochan, SIX MORE! Garcia took the pace off this time, but dished the ball in the slot once again! Harrylochan waited for the ball to come, repeated the slog sweep, and deposited the ball into the same area as the previous instance!
If dls comes to the scene, this six could be the game changer.
3.3 Eric Garcia to Vikesh Harrylochan, SIX! Harrylochan got all of that all right! This was right in the slot on off stump, Harrylochan got right under the ball and deposited it deep into the banks at mid wicket!
3.2 Eric Garcia to Tion Webster, good length delivery outside off, Webster looked to pull the ball, but ended up inside edging it onto his pads. Just a single as the ball rolled towards the silly point
3.1 Eric Garcia to Vikesh Harrylochan, full on off stump, clubbed towards the man at long on, who collects it on the bounce. Just a single is what they'll get
3.1 Eric Garcia to Vikesh Harrylochan, wide, slower delivery, sprayed down the leg side
Eric Garcia, right-arm medium pacer has been called up to bowl the important penultimate over.
Tion Webster is keeping it alive for the Scorchers. The TKR batter is doing what he does the best. With 21 runs needed from the last two overs, the Scorchers should feel this like a cakewalk.

2.6 Akim Chandler to Tion Webster, FOUR! Banged in short once again, width was on offer, Webster shifted his weight onto his back foot and pulled the ball towards cow corner, finding the boundary once again!
2.5 Akim Chandler to Tion Webster, high full toss outside off, Webster threw his hands at it and smashed the ball towards the man at sweeper. Webster spotted the fielder taking it a bit casually, decided to race back for the second, and they got it!
2.4 Akim Chandler to Tion Webster, FOUR! That was a bit too short from Chandler, and Webster was quickly onto that! He pulled the ball just in front of square, and beat the man in the deep with ease!
Short third man goes back in the deep.
2.3 Akim Chandler to Vikesh Harrylochan, full on off stump, thumped towards the man at long off without much timing, just a single
