Thanks a lot for joining me- Mohul Bhowmick- for this exciting game of cricket here in Perth. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did bringing it to you. Until next time, take care!
Perth Scorchers beat Adelaide Strikers by 42 runs!
Laurie Evans 85* (28) | Lance Morris 5-24 Matthew Short 74 (44) | Henry Thornton 2-31
The Adelaide Strikers were veritably blown away by the Scorchers, who bowled exceedingly well and ensured that the former did not get an opportunity to do well at all. Although Matthew Short gave the Strikers some hope, it was snapped up by Lance Morris, who picked up five wickets in this game.
This result will give a lot of confidence to the Scorchers, who have proven why they are nigh on unbeatable at home. While it was Laurie Evans who stole the show for the home team in the first innings, it was Lance Morris in the second. The Strikers stood no chance.
The Strikers continue to travel poorly, and this is something that they need to work upon in their upcoming matches. The Scorchers, for their part, have made sure that they have kept the fortress in Perth unbreachable. Today's was a rollicking performance from the home team, and they deserved this win!
