Sophie Devine: Firstly, appreciation to Strikers, We couldn't have asked for anyone better than them to play against us in the finals, and I mean it when I say so. We stayed together as a unit and played for 6 weeks and to play against a crowd like this it is special

Tahlia McGrath: I'm proud of this team. We stayed together for some time, spent a lot of it playing with each other. I'm sure that we will be back better in the next edition. The Scorchers beat us thrice this season and they were the better team out of the eight. They deserve the title. It was good playing with a crowd that was around 15000 people

Alana King: It is awesome to get a win these girls have been awesome and love to be with them. The celebrations will go on for long. I'm just loving my time here in orange and love them all and they mean everything to me.

Beth Mooney: A good win but yea, the Strikers gave a good fight. It does hurt when you lose in the finals and we have been there in the past and I know how they feel. However, this is a sport and there has to be one winner and a loser. I'm really enjoying my cricket and being able to win this title in front of this crowd is awesome as well.

Sophie Devine: Yea championship teams rely on everyone and today everyone chipped in. Yea Piparo was ill and in her room throughout the week and the way she ran the twos shows her commitment.

What a season this has been for the Scorchers. They have been spot on since the first game of the last season and were the first team to make it to the finals. They came into the finals, batted really well after being in a muddle and now win the match, and the season in their home ground. Congratulations to them and commiserations for the Adelaide Strikers for whom this tournament has been so near yet so far.

The chase was a rocky road for the Strikers who didn't have the best of the starts. They lost van Niekerk and Katie Mack in the powerplay and couldn't manage to recover post that. They batted through the middle overs well and put up 53 runs in the first 10 overs. Laura Wolvaardt and Tahlia McGrath held the chase together and batted along, showing nerves of steel. Both of them fell in after playing a good knock but Madeline Penna stood till the end, playing a fighting knock without much support. The Strikers ended with 134 runs after 20 overs and fell short by a close margin.

Scorchers bowled their heart out and plucked wickets at regular intervals. Devine and Peschel started it in the powerplay by sending back both the openers cheaply. Peschel then returned to pick up the wicket of Tahlia McGrath, putting brakes on the scoring rate. Heather Graham picked up 2 wickets and Kapp bowled an economical spell in her 4 overs
