Rohit Sharma [India captain]: Was fantastic, we got what we wanted as a group. Unlucky we didn't get the full game with the day washed out yesterday, but we got what we were looking for. Fantastic to see the people coming here and support us in full numbers.
Jack Edwards [PM XI captain]: It's good, Sammy played exceptionally and Scotty bowled well, India played well. Some big names to lead to, nice few days down here.
Sam Konstas is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: Was a good experience, credit to India and wish them all the best to the series.
Team India beat Australian Prime Ministers XI by 6 wickets
India: 256/5 in 46 overs
Shubman Gill: 50(62b) | Charlie Anderson: 2/30 (6 overs) Yashasvi Jaiswal: 45(59b) | Matthew Renshaw: 1/13 (3 overs)
So India have hit two birds with one stone - they have comprehensively won the game while also batting their full quota of overs. They have shown good steel when it comes to facing the Pink Ball, and they will feel confident that they are fairly ready to take on the challenge.
Team India openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul batted well against the new ball. KL Rahul retired out while Jaiswal lost his wicket owing to a rush of blood. Rohit Sharma was undone chasing a wide one while Shubman Gill, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar enjoyed some time in the middle, helping the visitors chase the total.
It was a fine effort from the Prime Minister's XI, with Charlie Anderson bowling a fine spell with the spinners also rolling their arms over and getting a good hold of the Pink Ball. Sam Konstas could also earn a maiden call-up to the Australian side after his heroics in this game.
