A run-fest that saw 321 runs piled up across 20 overs and it was quite a spectacle. Gamblers SC will rue the fact that they've let the opportunity of securing a famous win slip away though, given that they were in command of the chase during the first half of it.

Chasing 169 warranted a rapid start and the opening combination of Kuldeep Gholiya and Ankush Kumar provided exactly that. Rana Sarwar, the hero with the bat for Punjab CC, was taken to the cleaners and similar treatment was meted out to his colleagues as well. With Gamblers racking up 68 in the powerplay, they certainly seemed on course to pull off a stunning heist.

The carnage didn't seem to come to a halt anytime soon with Ankush pulverizing every bowler in sight en route to a spectacular half-century. Umar Muhammad dismissed him soon after and that proved to be the most defining moment in the contest, especially with Gholiya also falling in the next over.

Gamblers didn't seem to get their batting order spot on, with some of their more fearsome hitters still waiting in the shed. The game then flipped on its head with the incoming batters failing to get going from the word go, even as the bowlers bowled much tighter lines and lengths to keep them quiet. Wickets fell at regular intervals and a couple of tidy overs was all that Punjab CC required to tilt things back in their favor.

In the end, Gamblers were left with way too much work to do as they fell short by 15 runs. A crucial couple of points for Punjab CC and they will look to build on this and sustain momentum further into the competition.

Finishes the game with a maximum does Sripal Matta. Should he have come in earlier perhaps? It's all up for us to debate but as for the result, Punjab CC win by 15 runs!
