Roma CC continues to rule the tournament. This was their twelfth successive victory and the streak is inching closer to Undertaker's win in Wrestlemania. But who shall be the Brock Lesner and breach the streak? We may find out as the competition progresses.
For now, this is Arijit Kundu signing off from the coverage on behalf of my co-commentator, Mohul Bhowmick. Stay tuned to the Sportskeeda galaxy for more such amazing sporting actions.
Roma CC continues their winning streak. This victory means their 12th consecutive win in the tournament. A target of 150 runs in ten overs was always going to be a mountain peak to climb. Although a possible equation of 57 runs were needed from the final three overs, some exceptional slog-over bowling helped Roma CC eke out the triumph.
In pursuit of a mammoth chase, the Kent Lanka withstood two big dismissals in the first over itself. It was followed by a tight over but they managed to switch gear in the final over the powerplay with the help of some erratic bowling from Dammika Aththanayaka. Ishan Shaminda was the aggressor in the chase and tried his best to accelerate the innings. Unfortunately, he was outfoxed for 36 off 18 balls in the sixth over from Rahat Ahmed.
The spinners of Roma arrived on the scene and regulated the defense in a scintillating manner. They bowled with respect to the field and conditions and therefore restricted the opposition short by 24 runs.
Earlier, Roma CC won the coin flip and opted to bat first. They racked up 54 runs during the powerplay while proactively hammering the pacers. The Kent Lanka cricketers suffered greatly as a result of their erratic line and length.
Charles Fernando and Pruthuvi Samarage accompanied Thushara Samarakoon's rampage around the park after Dinidu Marage was dismissed. The lower middle order continued to use the long handle wittily despite the occasional loss of wickets. Some lusty blows from Prabath Ekneligoda and Rahat Ahmed eventually helped them reach 149-5.
