That brings us to the end of this encounter. A relatively tame end after Nicolo Fernando and Tahir Khan had ignited the hopes with a very good partnership. However the fall of Tahir Khan's dismissal, the game literally slipped away from the grasp of Kent Lanka. Vimukthi gave some hope with a couple of lusty blows but despite Nicolo Fernando standing till the end, it was a too tall an ask and in the end, it was a convincing 33 run victory for the Bangla Morning Sun.
Risal Jayawardena gave away his wicket cheaply in the opening over as Anik Ahmed started off brilliantly. He bagged the wickets of Jayawardena and Ishan Shaminda in the very first over to put Kent Lanka in the backfoot. One more wicket fell in quick succession but it was the partnership between Fernando and Tahir which gave them some hope.
They continued finding the boundaries at regular intervals and one stage they were scoring at 15 runs per over after the 4th over. Achintha Denuwan departed early and despite Nicolo Fernando carrying the bat through, it wasn't enough for Kent Lanka. After a great knock with the bat, Sharif Raihan bowled a superb over but Anik Ahmed was the star, finishing with figures of 2/14.

9.6 Rifat Janal to Nicolo Fernando, FOUR MORE! That is that as Roma Bangla Morning Sun proved to be just a little too much for Kent Lanka as they go down by 33 runs. Length delivery, wide of off-stump as Fernando reaches and slams it to deep extra-cover for another boundary.
9.5 Rifat Janal to Nicolo Fernando, FOUR BYES! Wide yorker, Fernando reaches to squeeze it away but misses, keeper misses and that races down to third-man for a four byes.
9.4 Rifat Janal to Nicolo Fernando, darted a full delivery outside the off-stump, Fernando hangs back to hoick but misses.
9.3 Rifat Janal to Nicolo Fernando, good length on the stumps, Fernando too early to sweep and misses.
9.2 Rifat Janal to Nicolo Fernando, FOUR! Misfield costs them a boundary. Full outside the off-stump, Fernando drilled it straight to the fielder at extra-cover, he let's it through and that races away.
9.1 Rifat Janal to Nicolo Fernando, length delivery, tossed up outside the off-stump. Fernando has a wild slog across the line and misses.
Rifat Janal, right-arm off break comes into the attack.
That's the end of the penultimate over and all Morning Bangla Sun needs to do is bowl six legal deliveries. The game is almost done and dusted with 46 required off the final over. Nicolo Fernando has played a good knock but hasn't got enough support from the other end.

8.5 Anik Ahmed to Nicolo Fernando, full toss, angled into the batter. Fernando tapped it into the off-side, takes a single on offer.
8.4 Anik Ahmed to Nicolo Fernando, OH! Short and angled into the batter, gives no room to the batter to work with as he looks to swipe and misses, pings him on the hips.
8.3 Anik Ahmed to Nicolo Fernando, OH! Great delivery, yorker length and Fernando gets followed as he backed away and drilled it straight to the cover fielder.
Stefano Kanhala, RHB is the new man in.
8.2 Anik Ahmed to Nicolo Fernando, RUN-OUT! Another run-out, Fernando had to get back to the strike, and Francis sacrifices his wicket as he looks to get back for an improbable second and finds himself well short here.
Francis Nimantha run out Shoel Chowdhury/Anik Ahmed 0 (0b, 0x4, 0x6)
8.1 Anik Ahmed to Nicolo Fernando, FOUR! Short outside the off-stump, Fernando leans back and carves it over the covers, goes one bounce into the ropes.
Francis Nimatha, LHB is the new man in.
After a sensational innings with the bat from Raihan, he has turned it on with the ball as well. A couple of wickets in that over, conceding just a solitary. He kept tossing the ball up and the batters kept going for ugly heaves and got beaten. This is almost done for the Bangla Morning Sun.

7.6 Sharif Raihan to Kavinda Karunanayaka, OUT! STUMPED! Short delivery, wide of off-stump. Kavinda looks to swipe and misses, but the keeper was sharp as he collects and helps it on to the stumps and Kavinda was out of his crease as he loses his balance and has to go here.
