So that is that from today's contest. A one-sided affair but a rocking Saturday awaits tomorrow as the Gujarat Giants and the Delhi Capitals lock horns in Navi Mumbai. Do return to this very platform for our coverage of that while also keeping yourselves updated with all the other cricketing news and action from around the globe here on Sportskeeda. For the moment though, this is the duo of Karthik Raj and Sooryanarayanan Sesha taking your leave. See you again tomorrow. Good night and here's to a great weekend ahead!
While Alyssa Healy was the star of the show, it was the bowlers who set it up for the UP Warriorz. What a clinical victory across all facets of the game and ahead of their next clash against the table-topping Mumbai Indians, this is just the sort of dominant performance that could turbocharge them. It's not been anywhere near that for RCB though - everything that could have gone wrong so far, has. It's going to take a Herculean effort hereon for them to pull victories out of the fire as they finish their first round of matches against every other team without a point against their name. The Delhi Capitals await next on Monday and maybe a change in venue to the DY Patil Stadium might change their fortunes. For that to transpire, however, they need a lot of things to click.
UP Warriorz captain Alyssa Healy is the Player of the Match for her stellar unbeaten 96. Here's what she has to say: Slight miscommunication but we got there in the end. (What was the miscommunication?) Nothing, doesn't matter (laughs). I was really pleased with our bowlers tonight. At the start of the match we thought of keeping them under 200 because that's what every team has been getting. To keep a batting unit like that under 140 was just brilliant. It was spin to win tonight. Still a good batting wicket but I thought our spinners bowled really well tonight. And Anjali too held her nerve. (Reason behind Devika opening the batting) Obviously Shweta (Sehrawat) is only a baby and is just coming into the competition. I know she will come into the tournament as it goes on. I saw her (Devika) batting in the series against India and I was wondering what the hell was she doing batting at 7. She took the pressure off me today. (Healy comes under pressure?) Just a little bit sometimes (laughs). We just set the platform early. We got off to a really good start. At the strategic timeout we got it to a run-a-ball. We didn't want to drag it until the last ball. Sometimes it comes off, sometimes it doesn't. I've played enough cricket to realize that and luckily today, it did.
Sophie Ecclestone: Yeah, Midge (Alyssa Healy) showed how good she is. Great cameo from DV (Devika Vaidya) as well. She was always due. Felt like DV taking the pressure off helped her too. Just great to be back with some wickets. Think we just tried to bowl too quick and hurried my overs in the last game. Just shows how good the overseas in this team are. Was nervous whether I might be dropped. It was a great night, great to get together and celebrate. We all come from different backgrounds.
Smriti Mandhana (RCB captain): In the last four games, we have started well but lost wickets in clusters. I will take a lot of the blame as well. We spoke about this before the game that we will try to take 7-8 runs per over during the 7-15 phase. As top-order batters, we have to do well and get a good total. No injuries but the last three games didn't go our way. We are trying to get a balance with our team but it has not gone our way so far. I have tried to speak to almost all the players about it and tried to pep them up. The last week has been very tough on the players. Lots to reflect and lots to work on. Can go back and introspect about the previous games. As an international cricketer, we have faced these situations but this is a different ball game. I have my family around me. Always believe you have to sit down and think about how to rectify your mistakes and I will do that!
Match Summary: UP Warriorz trounce Royal Challengers Bangalore by 10 wickets.
A decimation of the highest order. And yet again, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have been subdued comprehensively. They just never had enough runs on the board after a catastrophic collapse saw them slump to a mere 138 and their young, inexperienced bowling unit was always going to find it tough.
Even more so when you run into a possessed Alyssa Healy. The Warriorz skipper came out all guns blazing to set the tone from the word go. The move to throw the cat among the pigeons in the form of Devika Vaidya also worked a charm, with RCB engulfed by the matchup of a left-hander in front of them and Smriti Mandhana turning to the off-spinning options ahead of Renuka Singh Thakur. That they went ahead with this move despite Renuka holding the edge over Healy made it all the more bemusing.
Not once were the duo of Healy and Devika fazed, with the duo complementing each other beautifully. Healy was the one who led the charge with one of the most complete batting performances you will see - there was timing, class, finesse and power in equal proportion, while she played the field at will. Every bowling change that Mandhana made was deemed null and void and with Devika also showing her class at the other end, the Warriorz were unstoppable.
They simply sauntered towards their target and after a close in and a big defeat, they would have had their net run-rate in mind. They duly managed to wrap up the chase with overs aplenty to spare to aid their cause and with their second win in three games, the Warriorz will feel positive about their chances going forward in the tournament. As for RCB, nothing is working for them and the doors seem to have firmly shut on them for all practical purposes. Stick around as we hear from the captains shortly...
Oh it isn't to be but she's not going to be disappointed about it. A happy skipper and the smile on her face tells you all you need to know. What a blistering display of batting and what a professional performance from Alyssa Healy and her team. UP Warriorz annihilate Royal Challengers Bangalore by 10 wickets with 7 overs to spare!

12.6 Shreyanka Patil to Alyssa Healy, tossed up on a length outside-off, Healy comes down the track and heaves it to deep mid-wicket for a single. No hundred for Healy but UP Warriorz register a ten-wicket victory over RCB who remain winless!
What a sound it made off the blade! The scores are level and Healy is one big strike away from a century? Can she get there?
12.5 Shreyanka Patil to Alyssa Healy, full-toss outside-leg, Healy reverse-sweeps it through point for a boundary. FOUR! She is playing around with the field here! Just one to get now!
12.4 Shreyanka Patil to Devika Vaidya, full and wide of off, Devika comes forward and drives it to deep covers. Single taken
Beautiful placement from Devika! UP Warriorz are just one big blow away from completing the demolition job.
12.3 Shreyanka Patil to Devika Vaidya, DEVIKA JOINS THE PARTY TOO! Full and sliding in, Devika hangs back and guides it between short third and backward point for a boundary!
This is now the highest individual score of WPL 2023.
12.2 Shreyanka Patil to Alyssa Healy, full on off, Healy comes down the track and chips it to long-on for a single. Healy is on 91* which is the highest score of the WPL so far!
Healy on 90 now. UP Warriorz are just 11 runs away. Long off, long on, deep mid-wicket and deep square leg in place.
12.1 Shreyanka Patil to Devika Vaidya, tossed up full on off, Devika runs down and lifts it in front of long-on for a single
Shreyanka Patil [2.0-0-24-0] is back into the attack. Over the wicket.
Just a matter of when and not if. That's how this whole chase has been really. But now, it's a matter of a small if as well with regards to Healy - she is 10 runs shy of becoming the WPL's first individual centurion.
