That will be all then from this clash, and we hope you enjoyed it just as much as we did bringing it to you. Thank you so much for tuning into our coverage but there's plenty of cricketing action over the weekend; ODIs in New Zealand and Pakistan, a Test in South Africa, three IPL games and of course, the biggie - the final of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup. You know your destination to catch the coverage of them all - yup, it's here on Sportskeeda. Until then, on behalf of my friend and co-commentator Rajarshi Das, this is Sooryanarayanan Sesha signing off for the night. Goodnight, take care and have a lovely weekend!
Salt Pond Breakers 117/8 in 10 overs (Ricavo Williams 30* off 9 balls, Alick Athanaze 3/14 off 2 overs) beat Dark View Explorers 90/6 in 10 overs (Alick Athanaze 26 off 16 balls, Ryan John 3/23 off 2 overs) by 27 runs.
When you muster all of 17 runs after three overs in pursuit of a target 101 more than that, you are always playing catch up. It was never in control for the Explorers who went about looking for ways to storm back into the chase but alas, there was none.
A rusty start from their openers just saw the asking rate creep up, keeping the Breakers firmly in control. Eventually, the first wicket came in the form of a run out - almost poetic, given how the Explorers were struggling to get it going. Things got better with time but only marginally, with Alick Athanaze keeping them in the hunt.
Ryan John doused those little hopes too though with a three-wicket burst off his second over and slammed the doors firmly shut on the Explorers. Thereafter, everything that transpired was all but a mere formality, and a comprehensive 27-run victory sees the Breakers progress further while also signaling the end of the road for the Explorers.
This game had loads in it - runs, wickets and extras aplenty, with a short spell of rain as well. In the end, the batting performance from DVE left far too much to be desired, turning it into a contest that didn't seem to have the makings of a one-sided one from the outset.
That is that - as simple as they come for the Salt Pond Breakers and they march ahead while bringing the Explorers' tournament to an end. Salt Pond Breakers beat Dark View Explorers by 27 runs!

9.6 Kadeem Alleyne to Urnel Thomas, slower ball, hits him on the pad, and the batters scamper through for one. The outcome of this ball means little to this game, to the tournament, and to the Dark View Explorers' campaign, as Salt Pond Breakers take the game by 27 runs!
9.5 Kadeem Alleyne to Sealron Williams, top-edge, but safe; fine-leg runs in and tidies up
9.4 Kadeem Alleyne to Urnel Thomas, another single
9.3 Kadeem Alleyne to Sealron Williams, Dragged back to the bowler, one taken
9.2 Kadeem Alleyne to Urnel Thomas, pulled away again, but just one this time
9.1 Kadeem Alleyne to Urnel Thomas, SIX! What a shot! Hard-length delivery, and pulled away with disdain over square leg!
That is it then - 39 needed off the last over! A couple of wides, a no ball perhaps and then divine intervention - that's what the Explorers need to pull it off hereon!

Delorn Johnson
8.6 Delorn Johnson to Sealron Williams, wide-ish delivery, but not called by the umpire. The equation now has mathematically gone past the Explorers' might!
8.5 Delorn Johnson to Urnel Thomas, another single
8.4 Delorn Johnson to Urnel Thomas, slower ball once again, not much timing there as the ball went to long-on, two taken. Thomas might have damaged his bat; he's calling for a new one
8.3 Delorn Johnson to Sealron Williams, Williams makes contact with a delivery that could have been another wide, they still get one
8.3 Delorn Johnson to Sealron Williams, a bit too wide, this one, unlike the last two, and it's called so as well
8.2 Delorn Johnson to Urnel Thomas, inside edge and the batters scamper through
8.1 Delorn Johnson to Urnel Thomas, Thomas went for a wild heave, but the ball didn't go anywhere.
That will be all for Warrican as he bows out for the day. 45 needed off 12 deliveries - do the Explorers dare to believe they can pull off an unlikely jailbreak? They will have to - it's not impossible but it certainly looks gargantuan!
