Both teams haven't been able to change their positions in the points table but a lot has happened and it's only getting tighter and tighter in the business end. That's it for this match folks! Hope you enjoyed the coverage. It's the pair of Rudransh and Soorya signing off for Sportskeeda!
Krishnappa Gowtham (Mangalore Dragons captain): (Is he fine and fit?) I have a little bit of a stiff neck and my shoulders as well. That's fine - when it's for the team, you have do to your best for the team. When there is a responsibility to lead the team, more than you just doing your work it's about taking the team along and carrying the players and making sure they're in the best of mindsets. That's the reason we keep telling the youngsters - you never know when your chance will come. Thippa showed it today and he grabbed his chance with both hands.
Thippa Reddy is the Player of the Match for his stunning knock of 82! Watch out for this lad in the games to come, folks!
All over! The roller coaster has stopped and it has gone the Mangalore Dragons way as they make it LWLWLWLW!
That was a breath-taking game, and in that regard, the last 10 overs felt like you were in space without a space suit. Gowtham wanted his batters to score around 150-160 at the toss and they gave him 191. They were excellent in their defense as Aditya and Sankalp built immense pressure with the swing and nip in the powerplay.
Ullal got out early and Kadam and Naveen went into a bit of defensive mode, trying to keep the wickets for the middle-overs but that only built more pressure on the batters following them when they got out. Rohit Kumar offered a bit of hope with his 23 but he didn't find any help.
Shreyas Gopal thought it was right to promote himself ahead of Abhinav Manohar and got out for 4 (6). Manohar thus came to bat under even more pressure and had no option but to keep going. He shone brightly but Arya stepped up to set aside the fears of the previous night and get the big man out just when he was starting to get going.
It looked all over for the Lions but that's when Bhatia and Kranthi came in, almost out of nowhere, to smack the bowlers everywhere and reduced that required run rate of 17-18 to back to around 14. Goyal got rid of Kranthi with a slower bouncer before Gowtham, who started his spell late due to the injury kept on going despite being hit and eventually got Bhatia out.
The hope turned out to be just a lot of entertainment but who's complaining (if you are not a Lions fan)?

Naveen MG to Aditya Somanna, THAT IS THAT! The fire continues to burn for the Dragons! Slower bumper outside the off stump. Somanna attempts a swat but gets only a thick under-edge which the keeper cuts across on the bounce. Mangalore Dragons continue their loss-win pattern with a win today - by 15 runs at that!

Naveen MG to V Koushik, back of a length delivery at the stumps. Koushik stays behind it and can only glance it square on the leg-side for a single

Naveen MG to Aditya Somanna, pace off and in the arc outside the off stump. Somanna's bottom hand comes off the handle as he swings over the bowler's head. 'Beda' says Koushik as he turns down a non-existent second run but the writing is on the wall now!
Three sixes needed now, it's more about limited the NRR damage now

Naveen MG to Aditya Somanna, honing in very full outside the off stump. Somanna can drill it only as far as long off as he turns down the run. Three balls, three sixes needed!
Almost signifies this innings, the Lions have just managed to stay in the crease.

Naveen MG to Aditya Somanna, RUNOUTAPPEAL! Referred upstairs! Slower full length delivery outside the off stump. Somanna miscues his swing across the line as it falls close to the inner circle before long on charges in. He picks it up and fires a throw to the keeper who is quick to dislodge the bails. Has Somanna made it back?
By the barest of margins! He is in and the Lions live to see another day. Or delivery, in this case. NOTOUT!

Naveen MG to Aditya Somanna, JUSTOVER! Full outside the off stump as Somanna miscues it with a swing. Skied high before extra cover hares to his right and throws himself at it as the ball clears him and rolls away. Two runs taken!
Naveen MG [2-0-11-1] comes back into the attack
You have to praise Gowtham here. Came to bowl late and took it on himself to bowl the most difficult overs of the match, kept on conceding runs but never gave up and eventually ended up taking the most important wicket.

Krishnappa Gowtham to V Koushik, full and drifting in outside the off stump. Koushik strides forward and blocks to see out the over. Over to Aditya Somanna to pull this off now!

Krishnappa Gowtham to V Koushik, fired into a length at the stumps. Turns in a touch as Koushik plays all around his flick. Would have slid past the stumps though as the players go up in appeal
Another wicket against the run of play and surely, surely it's all over for the Lions?
