A brilliant final over from John Russ Jageesar ensured a nail-biting victory for the Soca Kings but not before some exceptional batting from the Giants T&T batters. Shatrughan Rambaran and Akiel Cooper provided a sensational turnaround in the last three overs, smoking sixes after sixes which took the match to the final over but in the end, the Giants T&T fell short by 10 runs. Take nothing away from the Giants here, this has been one of the best matches of the competition so far.
Mark Deyal and Rambaran got their side off to a flying start. Deyal in particular looked in great touch and smashed four boundaries during his brief stay at the crease. He was dismissed by John Rus Jageesar in an attempt to play the big shot. Rambaran was joined by Suraj Seepaul and the duo didn't allow the required rate to climb to a territory of discomfort. However, some good bowling in the 6th and the 7th over turned the game well and truly in favour of the Soca Kings.
The departure of Seepaul brought Akiel Cooper out in the middle and he suddenly turned the complexion of the game with a flurry of sixes. He raced away to 41 off just 14 deliveries which included a four and 5 sixes. It was carnage on display and suddenly from 65 required off the last 3 overs, it was down to 18 required off the final over. Jageesar held his nerves and ensured a 10-run win. He was the pick of the bowlers with a couple to his name.

John Russ Jageesar [1-0-8-1] will bowl the final over.
An expensive over from the youngster Justin Manick, conceding 21 runs. Still 18 runs required off the final over and some of their hitting in the last couple of overs has been nothing short of extraordinary.
