Alright. So, that's that from this 1st game of the Tri-Series, India triumphant, thanks to some brilliant batting from the debutant and India chipped away with wickets to rattle South Africa. Plenty of cricket to follow tomorrow, don't forget to tune into Sportskeeda, until next time this has been myself, Pradeep along with Srivathsa signing off, stay safe and take care!
Amanjot Kaur | Player of the Match: I was very happy, I was contributing, I never thought this will happen but I got the opportunity and grabbed it. We won the game and I'm happy. I was very excited as this was my debut but she [Deepti Sharma] calmed down, she told me to look at taking the singles and to time the ball.
Smriti Mandhana | India captain: We spoked before the game, we have to show our character and we did that. The partnership between Aman and Deepti was match winning one, the bowlers stepped up. With the start we got, trying to finish at 130 but the kind of batting Aman and Deepti, they turned it on in the end. The batters told us in the first innings that it was turning, our bowlers were pleased with that and they executed it really well.
Sune Luus | South Africa captain: Obviously, our first game in seven months, it's good to get out there, got a good feel of the conditions, still a long way to go in the tri-series. We pulled it back nicely, just needed to tighten up at the end but Deepti played a good innings in the end. It was like playing India in India, it was challenging for us when they have a lot of spinners with them, we just needed one or two batters at the end, we fell short in the end. If myself, Tryon or de Klerk were in the end, things would've been different, could've scored those 27 runs.
India win the game by 27 runs!
South Africa 120-9 after 20 overs| Sune Luus 29(30) | Chloe Tryon 26(20) | Deepti Sharma 4-0-30-3 | Devika Vaidya 3-0-19-2
India complete a convincing win to go 1-0 up in the series. Deepti Sharma got the big wicket of Laura Wolvaardt early and despite Kapp looking in good nick, she holed out to long-off before making a big contribution.
The Indians used their spinners to slow down the pace and take matters out of the batters' hands, and that ploy worked well as South Africa lost their way in the middle.
Nadine de Klerk and Chloe Tryon threatened for a while but Tryon's big wicket was snared by Radha Yadav as the asking rate spiralled and that signalled the death blow for the hosts.
India completed the job professionally even though they would not be happy at their fielding which was sloppy throughout.
Stay tuned for the post-match presentation.

18.6 Sneh Rana to Masabata Klaas, OH DEAR! Drops it short, turned sharply into Klaas who looks to cut but whiskers past the inside edge and past the off-stump too.
Bizarre to see a leave in the 19th over in a T20 game.
