Spain were favorites for a large, large part of the run-chase, especially when Hamza Saleem Dar was sending it out of the Cartama Oval, but the way the England XI bowlers kept picking up those wickets and pull things back, Spain were always going to run out of steam. Despite losing two early wickets, Spain got off to a great start thanks to Yasir Ali. The momentum was kept alive by the Spain middle-order, mainly by Hamza Saleem Dar, who got Spain ahead with four successive sixes off one over. Muhammad Ihsan kept the onslaught going after Yasir departed, but the England XI choked down the runs in the last couple of overs.
