Spain beat France by 7 wickets Muhammad Babar 62 (21) | Umar Bashir 38 (14) Muhammad Atif 3-24 (2) | Noman Amjad 2-34 (2)
Spain get an emphatic victory and start the new season in style. The partnership between Doyle Calle and Babar was threatening, blistering and Brutal. They set the tone by going after the French bowlers inside the powerplay. Even after the field is spread, Babar's power and Calle's scintillating shot-making were in full flow as the bowlers struggled to stop the run flow. They were going at almost 20 runs an over at the halfway stage but things got a little tight after Calle's wicket.
However, Spain has the batting depth and despite losing a couple of wickets in the penultimate over, they won the match with an over to spare. Babar was at his destructive best as he remained unbeaten on 62 in the end. The first match is done and dusted and not too long to for the second one. 8.2 Noman Amjad to Hamza Saleem Dar, full around off-stump. A swing through the line with no footwork and a miss! Another dot ball.
Hamza Saleem Dar, LHB, walks in at no.4
8.1 Noman Amjad to Muhammad Ihsan, OUT! Full around off-stump. A swing across the line on this occasion but a miscue. The ball goes high up in the air and cover gets in from the deep to take a fine catch! Muhammad Ihsan c Mangal b Amjad 7 (4b, 0*4, 1*6)
Noman Amjad [1-0-16-0] comes back into the attack
This is getting interesting for the neutral as France bowled a couple of tight overs to pull things but with the well-set Babar still at the crease, it should be an easy chase for Spain

7.6 Rohullah Mangal to Muhammad Babar, short around off-stump. Babar surprisingly misses the pull shot on the back foot here! Perhaps he wanted to hit it too hard and lost sight of the ball at the last moment.
7.6 Rohullah Mangal to Muhammad Ihsan, short and really WIDE outside off-stump. Ihsan moved way across the stumps and misses the pull shot. The keeper misses too and gives away a bye.
7.5 Rohullah Mangal to Muhammad Babar, full and slow outside off-stump. Heaved off the thick inside half of the bat to deep mid-wicket for a single off the front foot.
7.5 Rohullah Mangal to Muhammad Babar, short and too WIDE outside the line of off-stump! Will have to bowl it again.
7.4 Rohullah Mangal to Muhammad Ihsan, short around off-stump. The attempted pull shot gets top edged to the vacant short third man region for a single!
7.3 Rohullah Mangal to Muhammad Ihsan, SIX RUNS! In the slot on off-and-middle. Blasted over deep mid-wicket from the front foot for a maximum!
7.2 Rohullah Mangal to Muhammad Ihsan, good length ball outside off-stump. A big swing and a miss on the up through the line! No run.
