Italy win by 45 runs.
Zain Ali - 74 (24) | Muhammad Arslan - 2/22 Ameer Hamzah - 48* (14) | Asad Rabbani - 2/33
Well there was just one team in the contest as Italy register a routine 45-run win over Spain to end Day 1 of ECI Italy-Spain. The hosts dominated with the bat and with the ball to win them victorious in the fixture.
Italy managed to post a huge 168 runs on the board thanks to some brilliant batting my Zain Ali who scored 74 off just 24, hitting nine sixes along the way. The pressure of a huge target ultimately played its part as Spain never really got going in the contest.
Italy were on top of the contest ever since Hasan Ali bowled a maiden in the very first over. Spain were chasing the game from that very moment. Muhammad Arslan and Crishan Kalugamage chipped in with two wickets each.
Ameer Hamzah's late striking did help Spain get a bonus point at least.

9.6 Hasan Ali to Ameer Hamzah, SIX MORE! BUT ITALY GET THE WIN! Short on leg-stump. Hamzah went deep in the crease, swiveled on the back foot and hooked it away over deep square-leg for a maximum!
9.5 Hasan Ali to Ameer Hamzah, FOUR RUNS! Back of a length on off-stump. Hamzah somehow gets bat on ball and gets it over short third man for a boundary, off the back foot!
9.4 Hasan Ali to Ameer Hamzah, back of a length just outside off-stump. A miss of the square-cut on the back foot, no run.
9.3 Hasan Ali to Ameer Hamzah, FOUR! Good length ball on off-stump. Hamzah moves across and laps it over the keeper for a boundary on this occasion!
9.2 Hasan Ali to Ameer Hamzah, SIX RUNS! Length on off-stump. Nicely lifted from the crease well over the left of long-off for a maximum from the middle of the bat!
9.1 Hasan Ali to Ameer Hamzah, SIX! Full on leg-stump. Hamzah holds the pose and lofts it high and handsome over long-on for a maximum!
Hasan Ali [1.0-1-0-0] will bowl the final over.
Spain need 21 from the final over to win a point.
