Nicola Carey has been adjudged the Player of the Match! Here is what she has to say.

Nicola Carey (Spirit captain): It wasn't an easy wicket to bowl on to be honest with you, especially against a left-hand, right-hand combination. But we stuck to out task and managed to stem the flow of runs at just the right times. I'm happy that I could contribute with the bat and hope that this form continues in the next match and also in the semi-final.

Stafanie Taylor (Tornadoes captain): I thought with the bat, we were a bit slow in the first six overs. Then, we batted well to end with a decent score. We started well with the ball through Aliya Riaz and Chanida Sutthiruang but what followed after that took the game away from us. Nicola Carey played superbly to take her side home and she deserves every bit of the credit. It has been a disappointing outing for us this time round, hope to come back stronger next year.

After 8 overs in this, the 2nd innings, we weren't sure as to whether Spirit could even come close to take the bonus point. Well, they did so with a ball left in the 10th over.

With that pocketed and a semi-final spot booked, we though that Spirit would not be too worried about chasing the runs down. But as it was, they romped home with 6 wickets left in the hut and more than 24 balls remaining!

Nicola Carey came out, took very little to get going and smashed her way to an unbeaten half-century! She played out only 3 dot balls in her entire innings. With 7 fours and 7 sixes, she helped her team do both - take the bonus point and finish victorious. Natthakan Chantham, who retired hurt, came out with a positive mindset and helped her captain in the run chase actively.

All the effort put in by Aliya Riaz and Chanida Sutthiruang with the ball went in vain as the rest of the bowling could not quite do any justice in the follow-up work. Sune Luus with her leg-spinners was disappointing. She bowled three overs and gave away 49 runs without taking a wicket. Riaz did not bowl out even when the going got tough for the Tornadoes and once again, Dane van Niekerk did not get a bowl.

This ends the Tornadoes' campaign. They finish without a win after being the champions last year. As for Spirit, they move into the semi-finals with a game in hand.

Another head-high full toss, this time closer to the body, Carey took two steps forward and thumped this one towards deep mid wicket, and the ball raced away! A comprehensive win for Spirit today, they take this game by 6 wickets with over 4 overs to spare!
