That's all from us then! We hope you enjoyed our coverage of this first One Day International between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. This is Soumarya Dutta signing off on behalf of my partner Arya Sekhar Chakraborty. See you soon!
Sri Lanka all out for 234 in 38 overs Pathum Nissanka 85(83) | Fazalhaq Farooqi 4/49 Wanindu Hasaranga 66(46) | Gulbadin Naib 3/34
What a historic moment for Afghan cricket as they've beaten Sri Lanka for the first time in any bilateral ODI! They've thoroughly dominated in all aspects of this contest today. Batting first they put on a really healthy 294 on the board, courtesy a brilliant 106 by Ibrahim Zadran and valuable half centuries from Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Rahmat Shah. With the ball, they were absolutely on top as they didn't let Sri Lanka get away.
Sri Lanka, kept loosing wicket's at regular interval's right throughout the innings and it never helped their cause. There were only two stand out performer's with the bat for SL, Pathum Nissanka and Wanindu Hasaranga. The rest of the batter's failed to capitalize on their starts. The lack of partnership's also hurt them big time. In the end it was Hasaranga ,who put on some resistance with the bat ,otherwise the margin of defeat could have been higher. In the end Sri Lanka fell short by fifty runs.
For Afghanistan, it was Gulbadin Naib ,who bowled an incredible spell early on, where he picked up three wicket's and put Sri Lanka on the back foot. Once that happened they never really recovered. Fazalhaq Farooqi and Yahmin Ahmadzai also bowled really well. The former in particular was star of the show as he picked up 4/49 in his nine over's.
Overall, a great victory for Afghanistan and a great moment for Afghan cricket. They will cherish this game for a long time in the days to come. For Sri Lanka, well the qualification scenario for the World Cup, has become tougher for them from here on. They will need to win three out of their next five games and it looks like an up hill task for them.
Ibrahim Zadran, Player of the Match: Thanks to almighty. Really happy for my innings today. I am very thankful to almighty. Yeah exactly I can say so. We won the toss and went for batting first. Wicket was pretty good for batting. I took my time on the wicket so I ended up scoring some runs. There were no changes in the wicket. After the 10th over, I passed the message to my teammates that we should target around 320. Our bowlers were fantatsic and didn't allow the batters to settle in.
Hashmatullah Shahidi, Afghanistan Captain- Thanks to the almighty. Our batsmen and bowler's did really well today. We were a bit short with the bat but our bowler's did well to restrict Sri Lanka. Ibrahim Zadran was brilliant with the bat. Overall, I think we executed our plans really well.
Dasun Shanaka, Sri Lanka Captain - It's a really disappointing result. Our bowler's gave away too many runs in the middle over's. We did come back well at the end but we could have done better. The main difference between the two sides was the partnerships and we didn't get enough of them. We have to win the next 3 out of 5 games to qualify directly for the WC and we are looking forward to the challenge
Afghanistan win the first ODI by 60 runs!

37.6 Fazalhaq Farooqi to Wanindu Hasaranga, WICKET!!!! and that's the end of the game. It was always going to be too little too late for Sri Lanka. That zipped off the surface from a length a shade outside off. Hasaranga clears his front leg and tries to run it away down the third-man region for a single. Ends up getting an inside edge straight onto his stumps. A comfortable victory for Afghanistan in the end.
37.5 Fazalhaq Farooqi to Wanindu Hasaranga, FOUR!!!! Hasaranga finally able to get a boundary this over. An attempted yorker comes out as a low full toss. A shade outside off, Hasaranga clears his front leg and uses his wrists to find the gap past the cover fielder.
37.4 Fazalhaq Farooqi to Wanindu Hasaranga, full one on the stumps and that has been carved away straight to the deep cover fielder. Doesn't take the run.
37.3 Fazalhaq Farooqi to Wanindu Hasaranga, this time well-disguised slower one from Fazalhaq Farooqi. Makes some room and tries to carve it away over point. Is deceived by the pace and Hasaranga is beaten.
37.2 Fazalhaq Farooqi to Wanindu Hasaranga, Hasaranga clears his front leg and drives this full one on the stumps straight to the cover fielder.
37.1 Fazalhaq Farooqi to Wanindu Hasaranga, full and straight angling into the right-hander. Hasaranga middles it well but finds the mid-off fielder.
Fazalhaq Farooqi (8.0-0-2-45), left arm fast medium, comes back into the attack.
Sri Lanka are going down and they're going down quite quickly! They're nine down and Hasaranga has hardly found any support at the other end. Afghanistan are inching close to a famous victory here.

36.6 Rashid Khan to Lahiru Kumara, a flatter one a tad outside off to Kumara. He plays it away towards the midwicket region.
Lahiru Kumara, LHB, comes to the crease.
36.5 Rashid Khan to Kasun Rajitha, WICKET!!!! Rashid Khan does the trick. It was always going to be the googly and Rajith is struck right in front. Rajitha prods forward and tries to defend and he was beaten all ends up there. He does take the review but replays suggest that he didn't get any bat to that and the ball would have turned and clipped the leg stump. This is why Hasaranga was trying to shield Rajitha from Rashid and didn't want to take the run last ball.
Kasun Rajitha, lbw Rashid Khan 8(5b 2x4 0x6)
36.4 Rashid Khan to Wanindu Hasaranga, flatter a tad outside off. Hasaranga rocks back and cuts it away down the deep cover region and takes a single.
36.3 Rashid Khan to Wanindu Hasaranga, flatter on the stumps. Defended off the frontfoot.
36.2 Rashid Khan to Wanindu Hasaranga, FOUR!!! this was full and straight from Rashid. Right in the slot, Hasaranga makes some space and drills this up and over to the straight boundary and there is never a fielder there.
