Pat Cummins, Australian captain: Amazing turnaround, to be honest none of us believed the match to get over so fast. Really proud of the squad with the way they responded to foreign conditions and everybody played outstandingly well. We are really clear in our planning and the bravery and the proactiveness shown especially by our batters was fantastic. Cameron Green played a decisive knock and it turned out to be the difference between the two teams.
Dimuth Karunaratne, Sri Lanka captain: I think it is pretty disappointing to get all out for around 100 runs. As a unit, we need to focus on collective contribution and we did not respond as well as the Australians did. They were really better than us for the past couple of days. We need to put out hand up and respond to the pressure better. We know the conditions better and we know how much it is going to turn and how much of a challenge it was to play with an inexperienced bowling attack. Ramesh Mendis as really good in the first innings. We need to approach the game better and we will certainly do that in the next game.

Cameron Green (Australia): When you come to subcontinent, you got a few unknowns, kind of had to go about it but we've got a lot of experience guys in the change room, gets a fair idea before I went out there, good first game. Few guys told me to be proactive, there is no point in going and defending, gets yourself in trouble, might as well play some shots.
Winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Karunaratne’s men desired to put a huge first innings lead on the board and they managed to put up a below-par 212 with Niroshhan Dickwella being the one who passed the 50-run mark. Nathan Lyon spun a web and claimed another 5-wicket haul in the subcontinent with Swepson being an able supporter from one end who claimed 3 wickets with being a little expensive with the runs.
Australia in reply came with an ideal intent to score at a healthy rate refraining Sri Lanka any possible opportunities in the field but quick wickets and that too of the prized middle-order rocked back the visitors a bit with them reeling at 83-3 with Steve Smith furious on Khawaja for a mix-up in the middle as the former lost his wicket in the process. Khawaja raced away to another half-century continuing from where he left in the Ashes.
Cameron Green along with Alex Carey stitched together a crucial 84 runs for the 6th wicket disabling the Lankans to drive home the advantage. A final flourish from Cummins with some crisp sweeps from Lyon took the lead to 109 runs.
Sri Lanka came all guns blazing scoring 17 runs off the first over but things went haywire once skipper Karunaratne departed courtesy of a good low catch from Carey. One batsman kept following the other and just when it seemed like a duo was building a partnership, bizarre dismissals kept pegging them back in the game.
Lyon was once again who started the turmoil for the home team joined by Swepson at the other end, but it was when Travis Head arrived into the attack, the situation exacerbated for Sri Lanka as he picked two in his first over and that too off Chandimal and Dhananjaya de Silva.
It was soon until the innings was wrapped up. There was a moment when the 9th Sri Lankan wicket fell, they were still trailing by a run and then a hit by Fernando forced Australia to bat again but only to chase 5 runs and David Warner took four balls to get over the line allowing his team to take an unassailable lead in the series.
Well, the outcome was inevitable. A comprehensive win for Australia. A clinical display from them and they take the lead in this two-match Test series. Smiles everywhere in the Aussie camp as Warner hits the winning runs and fist pumps in the air. Cummins has a big smile on his face. What a win this is for the visitors!

12 wickets to fall in the session and at the start of today, we believed Day 3 to be the moving day of the Test match but did not have a hint that it would move so rapidly so as to end the match in the first session itself. We will be back with the presentations

Just four deliveries is what Australia needed to seal a comprehensive victory here in Galle and plenty to ponder for Sri Lanka. Length delivery on the outside off, tossed it up and Warner gets tempted to step down the track and he clobbers it over deep mid-wicket fence for a huge maximum!

At 37-0, Sri Lanka in their wildest of imaginations would not have imagined having to save for innings defeat at one point and if it wasn't for Asitha Fernando clobbering the first ball that he faced, an innings defeat was on the cards. Such dramatic collapses are not good for Test Cricket. Had it not been for Starc in the first couple of overs, Australia would have won few time back by an innings
It was Nathan Lyon who was the chief Tormentor in this innings once again along with 5 wickets in the first outing. Swepson played his part but it was Travis who turned the match on its ''Head'' by his snake-like off-break starting with a beauty to send back Dinesh Chandimal. An inspired spell of 4-10 in 2.5 overs has left Australia needing only 5 runs to go 1-0 in this Test series.

It was full and straight into Lasith who gets behind to whip it but raps on the boots and that must've been crashing into leg-stump. UltraEdge confirms it was pad first. Ball tracking shows THREE REDS AND Australia need just 5 runs to win this test match now and Head picks up his fourth of the game, he'll remember this for a long time!
