Cyprus Eagles beat Sri Lankan Lions by 14 runs

A good performance from the Cyprus Eagles as they complete a double over familiar foes to win an evenly contested match. The chase was going to be tough for the Lions as the ball had become wet and was stopping and coming onto the bat. The openers failed to stitch a partnership between themselves as Gunasekara was dismissed cheaply. The trio of Denuwa Prartana, Chamal Sandun and Nalin Pathirana did the bulk of scoring but were doing so at a snail's pace. They could only score one six but fell short in their chase as they were restricted to 89/3 in their 10 overs.

Cyprus Eagles didn't manage to pick many wickets but kept it nice and tidy towards the death. Dew affected the behaviour of the ball, and they did concede way too many extras, but also managed to pick up wickets at crucial stages of the match. 3 wickets fell and Umar Shah, Jawar Shah and Bilal Shah were the three bowlers to pick them. Other bowlers played an active part with the ball in hand as they gave away very little room to batsmen to work with and didn't allow them to go through with their shots.
