Match Summary: Alby Zalmi beat Stockholm CC by 49 runs.
A clinical performance by Alby Zalmi as they coast to a massive victory that is bound to boost their confidence while also shoring up their net run-rate. It was set up by a magnificent century by Ismaeel Zia, who batted like a man possessed to take his side to a score that proved to be well beyond the reach of Stockholm CC.
The chase never really got going as far as Stockholm were concerned. They might have got through the powerplay unscathed and while they batted alright, a total of 30 at the end of that phase was never going to be enough in a chase as steep as this. Javid Dawoodzai then got into the act and sent Shiva Arsi packing before returning to snare three more wickets in his next over as he proved near unplayable, all with a simple radar as he looked to cut off the scoring shots at first before attacking the stumps.
The odd cameo came by here and there but they were never going to be fruitful enough with the asking rate escalating to gargantuan proportions. The end result never seemed in doubt and skipper Azam Khalil was happy to give a number of his bowlers the opportunity to roll their arm over as a number of them chipped in with regular wickets. In the end, it was a comfortable victory for Alby Zalmi that ought to add a spring into their step going forward.
With two wins in as many games, Zalmi are on their way in the ECS Sweden 2023. They certainly seem like one of the teams to beat alright and for Stockholm CC to get close to that, they need to put this performance aside and start afresh with a much better display across departments.
A comfortable victory in the end for Alby Zalmi. They barely put a foot wrong today and they've romped home by a massive margin here. What a performance this has been!

Outstanding catch in the deep by Mashal Khan! He hasn't had much to do in this game but here's where he has made his presence felt. It's skipper Azam Khalil's turn to get into the wickets and with one over to go, he'll be hoping that his side can pick up the last two wickets that remain as well. Stockholm CC require 55 runs to win off the final over!
