Alright, that's all she had written for us tonight! This has been Abhinav Singh, alongside my good friend and colleague, Sooryanarayanan Sesha. Kane Williamson (SRH captain): Again, this was a step-up. With the ball taking the early wickets against a side like KKR. A little bit of dew came in which helped us. Our death bowling was brilliant. To chase the way we did, hats off to the players. Rahul played a brilliant innings and so did Markram. (On two South Africans contributing) Both are big players for us and have different roles. Marco with the bounce and pace has been a big part of our attack alongside Bhuvi. (Handling a bowler like Umran) Yeah, basically. Just trying to get his field right. Its unique having a bowler continuously breaching the 150 kmph mark. He had a nice day today and hopefully it continues. The guys are working really hard. We are seeing signs of improvement. We are going to a new venue and all teams are strong. We need to continue to improve

Rahul Tripathi (Player of the Match): It was fun tonight. It was fun especially because it was against KKR. (On hitting Russell for maximums) He sometimes bangs in short and I was looking for the pull shot whenever he banged one in. (On lofting Varun over extra cover) Varun bowls well, so I didn't expect him to bowl up. I went through with the shot. Nothing was pre-meditated. I tried to put pressure on him. (Laughs) It has been special with KKR. We have been getting into groove. I had been struggling with my health but my team helped me. I enjoy and there are days when it gets tough but I enjoy the hard work and just enjoy the game. Before going to bat, I am bit fidgety kind. I am happy that I could get this innings today

Aiden Markram (Sunrisers Hyderabad): Feels good to win. It's nice to bat with a guy like Tripathi who gets going and gives you a bit of time to settle. It was nice to lay out a good platform. (On remaining unbeaten for the second time with Nicholas Pooran) We laugh about it - we've struggled a bit in the past so it's nice to get across the line. It's nice to do it more often. It's almost just buying into trying to suit the role the team needs. I think that takes a lot of pressure off you as an individual and sometimes things just fall into place. I'm enjoying it with the Sunrisers, it's been a great few weeks and hopefully we keep the momentum going. (Any clear instructions to him from the management?) It is to play the situation out there. When I play with Rahul who's naturally very aggressive - the longer we spend out there he's going to do majority of the scoring but it's the partnership that matters. From there hopefully I can get in and keep playing the situation through until the end. It's not a finished product at all but I'm happy to get over the line. It (net run rate) wasn't really my thought. In the past I've taken it into the last over and lost so I felt the sooner we finish it the better.

Shreyas Iyer (Kolkata Knight Riders Captain): Feeling pretty drained and obviously a disappointment after putting such a good total on the board. I really thought it was a good total. The way Tripathi came in, he completely changed the momentum. He didn't allow us to settle at all so credit to him. The ball was seaming at the start - their bowlers also didn't know where it was going and as batters, I think we were well settled after the Powerplay. The total we then got, we did really well towards the back end. It was a bad day for us as a bowling unit and we need to reassess and come back stronger.

"We are getting better as a side" -- this is what Williamson had remarked at the toss, and certainly his side has got better as the tournament has progressed by raking up three victories on the bounce. The platform for the win was laid in the first half itself as Kane took the courageous call of bowling first -- going against the conventional wisdom of this year's IPL.

Chasing a target of 176 could have been stiff if the KKR bowlers had managed to exploit the conditions as SRH bowlers did. However, the men in purple and gold bowled slightly short of good length and attempted to challenge batters with the short stuff.

It did work alright in the beginning as Cummins managed to send Abhishek back to the hut, courtesy a drag on but other than that, it generally allowed the SRH batters to get back into business.

Rahul Tripathi, who came to bat at no. 3 completely changed the flow of the match with his attacking intent -- intent merchant as we like to call. However, he backed up his intent with some audacious strokeplay and swept KKR out of the contest.

Alongside Aiden Markram, Tripathi stitched a 94-runs partnership and ensured that SRH sealed the game. In the end, the South African paired up with Nicholas Pooran and completed the chase with 13 deliveries to spare.

With the victory, SRH have got themselves into a good moment in the tournament. They were written off after the first couple of games but the turnaround has been heartening to see.

The franchise has copped some bad PR in the last 12 months but the performance in the field would come as a welcome relief to the management as well as the faithfuls' of the side. They now sit at the seventh spot in the table with six points in the bag.
