The Sparta Cricket 1888 were in the driver's seat with 3 overs left in the game, chasing a target of 101 set by Kampong earlier thanks to important cameos from Sherry Butt and Usman Malik. It was this duo's partnership and a late appearance from Dipesh Khardia that helped them accumulate a 100. Sandeep Sardha, benefiting from dropped catches and some ordinary bowling at the start, kept his side well and truly in the game. Gagandeep Singh provided him support until the halfway mark, and once he was dismissed, Sardha could not find adequate support from the other end. It was Sherry Butt who changed things around on the field this time, first with an acrobatic pick-up and throw to run Raza Noor out, and then take a simple catch to give Pierre Jacod, who had bowled well after his first couple deliveries of the game which went for sixes, a well deserved wicket, the one of Sandeep Sardha. That wicket pretty much broke the backbone of Sparta Cricket 1888, as wickets continued to tumble and the ask proved to be too tall for the lower order. And so, Kampong takes the first game between these two sides today, the margin being 8 runs.
