Commentary

Svanholm thump Star CC by 10 wickets!

A complete performance from Svanholm. Apart from the first three overs of the game, it has been Svanholm all the way. After bundling their opponents out for just 44, Svanholm had to be wary of what Jatin Madan and Vijay Desai can do with the new ball. A couple of early wickets can always be tricky regardless of the target. But the two openers, Zishan Shah and Wahab Hashmi, both of whom were promoted to see out the chase, did exactly that. They mixed caution and aggression in good measure as they chased down the target with 34 balls to spare. Star CC didn't trouble the batters too much with the batters chasing it down easily in the end.

With that win, Svanholm will march on into the final's day with some momentum and much-needed confidence. However, it is the end of the road for Star CC, who gave ECL fans some entertainment earlier in the day in a Golden-Ball affair. They will be proud by what they have achieved in the tournament despite entering as the underdogs. They will take this experience back to their domestic circuit and look to come back to the ECL a better team next year but that is a conversation for a different day. For now, it is all about Svanholm and their impressive performance at the Cartama Oval.
