Commentary

Words fail to describe the emotion and the chaos that has been unfolded in the past half an hour. Sweden came out, having to chase 150 of 60 deliveries. Belgium struck gold with a wicket in the first over, followed it with another one in the third over, and were on top of the game at the end of powerplay. In between the two wickets, Sweden did manage to put up a decent total, one that could be improved, going ahead in the game.

Khalil and Rahel had given a decent start, but then walked in Imal Zuwak, who was in no mood to be bullied, rather wanted to be the bully. He started playing his shots, and picking boundaries for fun. He reduced the deficit by the end of the 6th over, when Khalil was dismisses, Venkatesh came out, but was only a guest for a few minutes, as he sacrificed his wicket for Zuwak, who had done a brilliant job to score 5 sixes in a row, in the one over he was partnered with his captain.

In walked Sami Rahmani, who was given the sole job to either find the fence, or give a single to Zuwak. Zuwak wanted the second option as a safety measure, but Rahmani had other ideas. In the starting of the 9th over, Sweden were on 113, and Rahmani took them from there to 147 in a span of 6 deliveries. He managed to score 33 runs, out of which only 1 run was a no ball, that too was put away out of the park. But Rahmani did what no one thought was possible.

Rahman ended the game with an over to spare, and Belgian were suddenly out of the contest. Barely 3 runs remained at the start of the final over, and it was Zuwak, crunching a boundary, and silencing the doubters. Sweden have done a remarkable job to go after Belgium, and have seeked revenge for sure. Yesterday, Belgium chased down a good total posted by Sweded, and today Sweden return the favor, by breaking the record for a highest total chased, and have triumphed with a stand out performance.

The Belgian bowlers did a fine job at the start, but it was those two overs going for 30 and 34 runs respectively that disrupted their chances, and took the game away from them. Nothing they could have done in all fairness, when Rahmani and Zuwak, were wreaking havoc. Sweden do stand a chance to make it through tomorrow, and they'll be eager to have a shot again.
