Edex Knights won by 3 runs
Basil George 35(16) | Justin Shaju 2/8(2) Muhammad Ajmal 46(27) | Imran Ameer 2/19(2)
It turned out to be a humdinger between the two evenly matched sides and in the end, it was the Edex Knights who prevailed by 3 runs in a thriller. Muhammad Ajmal and Jaspal Singh got their team off to a good start. Akmal smashed 14 runs in the opening over to lay the foundation but the scoring rate kept coming down as the overs progressed. Jaspal and Muhammad Qasim were dismissed for 9 and 7 respectively but Ajmal was still out in the middle and looked set to take them over the finish line.
Anil Qadir came out with a positive frame of mind and smashed three sixes in his first five deliveries. He turned the game around with some exceptional blows but in the end, it didn't prove enough. Ajmal couldn't quite get the boundaries going at the rate he would have liked. He was eventually dismissed on 46 off 27 deliveries which included 5 fours and 3 sixes. The match went down to the wire but in the end, it was a couple of superb final overs which handed the Edex Knights a 3-run victory.

9.3 Jais Mathew to Vidhu Krishnan, WICKET! That was a slower good-length delivery outside off, Krishnan swings across the line and gets beaten, Anil Qadir was looking for a single but it wasn't on. 8.5 Justin Shaju to Anil Qadir, slower back of a length delivery a shade outside off, Qadir was way too early into the attempted swipe across the line, gets beaten.
8.4 Justin Shaju to Anil Qadir, takes a leg bye single towards the off side.
Vidhu Krishnan, RHB is the new man in.
8.3 Justin Shaju to Imran Ameer, WICKET! Back to back wickets for Shaju. That was a short one from Shaju and Imran smacked that well, connects this pull very well but straight to the midwicket fielder Stanislaus who doesn't make a mistake.
Imran Ameer, RHB is the new man in.
8.2 Justin Shaju to Muhammad Ajmal, WICKET! The game is not finished yet folks. There could still be a twist left in the tale. Was a fuller-length delivery a shade outside off, Ajmal swings across the line and gets a top edge, the fielder called early who was running in from long-on, holds his composure and clutches onto that.
8.1 Justin Shaju to Muhammad Ajmal, fuller-length away swinger well outside off, Ajmal throws his hands at that but gets beaten.
