That's it. Hobart Hurricane taste their first success in this edition of BBL, while Sydney Sixers endured their first defeat in front of their fans. Chasing a record target at SCG, James Vince and Josh Phillipe were cautious against the surprise package, Tim David, who was asked to open the attack by Matthew Wade. It's already a big total to chase and the rain has made the Sixers' job even harder with the revised equation and also with a one over power surge.
Joel Paris got rid of James Vince, and despite his partner, Josh Philippe was scoring boundaries at regular intervals, it only helped to reduce the deficit of the defeat. Phillipe scored yet another half century in this BBL, and after being handed two lifelines, he eventually lost his wicket to Joel Paris.
Sydney Sixers' bowling attack which is quite often very disciplined, didn't do any magic today against Matthew Wade as his powerplay onslaught was key to HH posting a mammoth total on this SCG wicket. The BBL action and fireworks doesn't end here as we have one more game that's taking place in Perth, so it's time to shift our focus there. Hope there will be enough entertainment in that contest but for now, this is Pragadeesh signing off on behalf of my colleague Ankit Sharma. See yaa.

17.6 Nathan Ellis to Tom Curran , FOUR!!! Cracking shot on the final ball, but it's not enough! Good length, stays a bit low, as it comes into the right hander. Curran makes some room, and spanks this one hard. Finds the gap of deep mid wicket well, and picks up a boundary. Hurricanes get their revenge!
17.5 Nathan Ellis to Tom Curran , good length delivery, wider this time, giving some room to the batter. Curran slaps this hard into the gap between deep cover, and long off. Gets enough time to come back for the second.
17.4 Nathan Ellis to Tom Curran , swing and a miss! Slower one, good length, almost kisses the top of the off stump. Curran plays it with a cross bat, and gets nowhere close the ball.
Tom Curran, RHB, comes to the crease
17.3 Nathan Ellis to Daniel Hughes , OUT! CAUGHT! Soft dismissal! Slower one, back of the hand delivery, good length, and just a hint of width on offer. Hughes wanted to cobble this one away, but ends up chipping a sitter to short cover. Catching practice to Rogers!
Daniel Hughes c Thomas b Ellis 2 (2b)
17.2 Nathan Ellis to Moises Henriques , good length delivery, served up on the off stump. Henriques whacks it in the air, towards deep mid wicket, but it falls well short of the fielder.

Daniel Hughes, LHB, comes to the crease
16.1 Joel Paris to Dan Christian , OUT! BOWLED! Full length delivery, darted into the leg stump with some pace on it. Christian tries to go across the stumps, and sweep it to fine leg. Paris sticks to his line, and gets the better of the veteran.
Daniel Christian b Paris 12 (9b, 2*4)
Joel Paris replaces Sandeep Lamichhane
Ellis is so disciplined with his length and so as the rest of the HH bowlers today. There were some freebies here and there, but overall, Matthew Wade would be pleased with his team's bowling efforts.
