The twist and turns of this WBBL season have shown why it's regarded as one of the best Women's franchise leagues around the globe. Still, a lot to play for this season. While Sydney Thunder and Hobart Hurricanes are nearly out of contention, the rest of the table is headed in for what could be an enjoyable scrap for places! That's all we have from this game though. We hope you enjoyed our coverage of the game. This is Pratyush Rohra, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator, Sooryanarayan Sesha. Buh-bye for now!
Right then. Today's results have spiced things up alright. The Melbourne Stars suffered a routing against the Perth Scorchers, earlier in the day, while the Sydney Sixers were outclassed by an adamant Adelaide Strikers side. As a result, the Stars and Sixers have dropped out of the playoff spots. The Scorchers have moved into second place, while the Strikers are in fourth place and level on points with the Stars and Sixers, with a game in hand as well.
Adelaide Strikers won by 8 wickets (with 8 balls remaining)
A convincing victory for the Adelaide Strikers are they overcome the two-time champions and the formidable Sydney Sixers unit. That's two consecutive wins for them now and they're peaking at the right time this season. The bowlers led the way today with Darcie Brown and Megan Schutt setting the tone early on.
Shafali Verma's spirited 53 got the Sixers to a respectable total of 142/4 but it was always underpar on that surface. However, the Sixers would have believed that they've got a chance when Brown dismissed Dane van Niekerk in the very first over. That though, proved to be the only little joy the Sixers got in the second innings.
Katie Mack and Laura Wolvaardt steadied the ship with a sumptuous 74-run stand to shut the door on the Sixers. While the latter departed in disappointing fashion, Mack completed her fourth WBBL fifty to lead her side over the line. Fittingly enough, the winning runs came off the skipper's bat as Tahlia McGrath marked her birthday with a six to seal the deal and complete a thoroughly professional performance from her side.
Tahlia McGrath finishes it off like she usually tends to! Punishing Hughes to seal the deal for her side. Back-to-back victories now for the Strikers as they leapfrog the Stars and Sixers and take the fourth spot on the table.

18.4 Emma Hughes to Tahlia McGrath, SIX! THE BIRTHDAY GIRL SEALS IT IN STYLE! Right in the slot on off, McGrath gets forward and pumps it powerfully down the ground to send the ball soaring over the bowler's head like an arrow. What a clinical run chase this has been by the Adelaide Strikers - they win by 8 wickets with as many deliveries to spare!
Scores are tied. Just one required now.
18.4 Emma Hughes to Tahlia McGrath, WIDE! OH DEAR! This was wretched and speared way outside the tramline. Outstanding take from Healy - a little further away and it would have landed beyond the strip!
18.4 Emma Hughes to Tahlia McGrath, WIDE! Slower delivery that lands outside the tramline on a full length, McGrath shuffles across and fails to make connection as the umpire has his arms outstretched to signal a wide.
18.3 Emma Hughes to Katie Mack, very full outside off this time, Mack leans into it to lace it down towards the fielder at sweeper cover for a single.
18.3 Emma Hughes to Katie Mack, WIDE! Full and slanting away wide of off, Mack reaches out to flay it through the line but she fails to connect as the umpire indulges in some exercise.
18.2 Emma Hughes to Katie Mack, fuller outside off this time, Mack leans forward to caress it towards deep cover before McGrath rockets back to her crease and slides her bat in on time. Superb intent!
18.1 Emma Hughes to Katie Mack, OOH! Back of a length delivery that nips back in from well outside off, Mack reaches out and slashes hard but she ends up comprehensively beaten by the seam movement.
Emma Hughes [1.0-0-5-0] is back into the attack
That'll settle the nervse, if there were any. The runs required are down to single digits now and its just about completing the formalities now. McGrath on her birthday to score the winning runs? That would be a nice way to celebrate it, no?

17.6 Radha Yadav to Tahlia McGrath, FOUR! EXQUISITE SWEEP! Full and flighted into the leg-stump, McGrath brings out a confident sweep and places it backward of square to send the ball racing to the fence.
17.5 Radha Yadav to Tahlia McGrath, very full and drifting into the stumps, McGrath makes room and shimmies down the track to bunt her drive past the bowler's left before mid-off picks up.
17.4 Radha Yadav to Tahlia McGrath, OOH! Flighted into a good length on off, McGrath plays all around her sweep as the ball lobs off the thigh pads past the keeper's right.
17.3 Radha Yadav to Tahlia McGrath, pulls her length back this time, McGrath rocks back to use the width on offer and scythe it towards deep backward point for a brace.
