That's it from this match, folks! It's the pair of Rudransh and Arya signing off.
Hannah Darlington: I just loved the game. Was incredible. Probably not as far as the game went but happy with the win. Yeah we just tried to flip our mindset. The way Tahlia and Leaoroyd batted kudos to them as they made a difficult pitch look pretty easy. We know this is gonna be our home ground for years to go. It's good for our confidence. Looking forward to hopefully getting back here.
End of the match!
Sydney Thunder win by 4 wickets (2 balls remaining)!
Tahlia Wilson 33 (40) | Hannah Darlington (3/26) Sophie Reid 21 (21) | Marizanne Kapp (3/20)
The Stars made a game out of a long-lost contest but couldn't finish it off. It was a win that would give immense confidence to Thunder, though, given that it came through major contributions from their local players instead of overseas superstars, with two Indigenous players applying the finishing touches.
Kapp made it extremely difficult with her three quick wickets upfront, where he got rid of the entire top-three. It resulted in an extremely slow powerplay for the chasing team. But once she bowled out, Wilson and Adams settled a bit. The latter was taken out by Gibson soon after but it kicked off a partnership between Wilson and Learoyd.
They strung together 49 runs together. Individually they seemed to be batting slow but maintained a run-a-ball pace which was good enough for the situation. Wilson got out just before the Surge which brought slight panic.
Johnson was dropped and hit a boundary to take Thunder closer before getting out. Deepti, who hadn't bowled at all, was given the last over and couldn't defend 8.
19.4 Deepti Sharma to Hannah Darlington, FOUR! Darlington finishes it off in style. Comes down the track and launches the tossed-up delivery down the ground, one bounce and off to the long-on fence.
19.3 Deepti Sharma to Anika Learoyd, slowish on a fuller-length a shade outside off, swung away towards the deep midwicket region for a single.
19.2 Deepti Sharma to Anika Learoyd, FOUR! Learoyd comes down the track and throws the hands on the good-length delivery around middle, swipes it across the line, gets it in the gap and off to the fence it goes. Just 2 more needed.
19.1 Deepti Sharma to Anika Learoyd, quick and full a tad outside off, Learoyd comes down the track and drills it all along the carpet, down the ground, hits the umpire's foot allowing her to take a couple.
Deepti Sharma, right-arm orthodox, will bowl the last
An excellent power surge for the bowling side. Designed for the batting team, it has worked in the bowling side's favor this time.

A drop, a four and a wicket! Wow!
18.4 Sophie Day to Sammy Jo Johnson, WICKET! This time Flintoff doesn't make a mistake. Johnson comes dancing down the track and swipes across the line to a flighted one around the middle stump channel, didn't quite nail it and the fielder clings onto it. 10 needed off 8.
Sammy-Jo Johnson c Flintoff b Sophie Day 8 (9b, 1x4, 0x6)
18.3 Sophie Day to Sammy Jo Johnson, FOUR! Johnson comes down the track and lifts this tossed-up good-length delivery a shade outside off, over the mid-off fielder's head and finds the boundary.

18.1 Sophie Day to Sammy Jo Johnson, fuller-length a shade outside off, Johnson steps down the track and drills it towards the mid-off fielder, takes a single.
16 needed in 12. The spate of wide deliveries have not allowed any pressure on Thunder. It can still go either way.
