Right, that was a joy ride with a thrilling final bend. Strikers almost bottled it in the final over. But thanks to Hasan's calm head, in the end, they somehow prevailed. I hope you have enjoyed the coverage. This is the duo of Rajarshi Das and Darpan Tikiya bidding you goodbye.
Tallin Strikers win by 6 wickets with 1 ball to spare.
Tallin Hippos 134/3 (10 overs) Steffan Gooch 67* (31) | Gull Zaman 2/26
Tallin Strikers 139/4 (9.5 overs) Shayan Khan 55 (19) | David Robson 1/13
THE STRIKERS DID IT!! The same team who wasn't able to chase 97 in their previous match, has chased down 135 with some panache here. That is why they say, "Cricket is a great leveller".
They didn't start the chase on the right note. They lost a wicket in the first over. But it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it brought Shayan Khan in with plenty of time for him to showcase his mettle. And he batted like there was no tomorrow. He played his shots and connected in the sweet spot of the bat more often than not.
When he hit sixes, the ball cleared the ropes with a margin of 10 metres on more. It was an innings that deserved to end up on the winning side. However, things could have been very different as well, had a few things had gone the way of the Hippos.
David Robson was miserly with the ball. He came to bowl the penultimate over of the innings and got the dangerous Shayan out. The game was therefore dragged into the final over where we saw a runout too. But in the end, it was Elias Hasan who kept his cool and smacked a six to win it for his team.
9.5 Steffan Gooch to Elias Hasan, SIX! Game's over! Yet another slot delivery from Gooch - he landed this on middle and leg. Right in Hasan's hitting arc, Hasan had a slog at this and proceeded to clear the man and ropes at deep mid wicket with it! The Strikers creep through!
New batter in is Muhammad Ehtesham, RHB.
Mannan was right to think about the run. He has been sent back from three quarters of the way. 2 runs to win off 3 balls.
9.4 Steffan Gooch to Elias Hasan, RUN OUT! Full, on middle and leg, Hasan has a wild heave at this, inside edges it onto his pad. Mannan was halfway down in search of a run, was sent back, he took an age to turn as the keeper passed the ball to Gooch. Gooch then broke the stumps, catching Mannan well short of his ground
Nahid Mannanrun out (Rudesh Sekaran/Steffan Gooch) 10 (6b, 2x4, 0x6)
That brings Hasan on strike with 2 runs to win off 3 balls.
9.3 Steffan Gooch to Nahid Mannan, on a length around middle and leg, Mannan swings and inside-edges this onto his pads. The batters scamper through for a run
Poor ball from Gooch. 3 runs to win off 4 balls now.
9.2 Steffan Gooch to Nahid Mannan, FOUR! On a length down leg, Mannan flays at this with one hand, and finds the gap to the right of the man at short fine
9.1 Steffan Gooch to Nahid Mannan, slow, full on middle, Mannan has a swing at this one and misses. The ball pings him on the pads
Steffan Gooch [1-0-11-1] bowls.
Robson didn't only get the danger man Shayan Khan out but has also dragged this into the final over somehow. With Mannan on strike, they need 7 runs to win off the last over.

8.3 David Robson to Shayan Khan, BOWLS HIM! Robson nails the yorker - he got a bit of shape back in as well. Shayan swings all around this one looking to clear mid wicket, and turns around to see his stumps splattered on the ground Shayan Khan b David Robson 55 (19, 3x4, 6x6)

The shoulders of the fielders have started dropping. Strikers see the finish line. Steffan Gooch would hope that that effort would inspire his mates to fight it out. 13 runs to win off 12 balls.
