So that is that. And we're not far away from Qualifier 2 with Texas Chargers electing to field first against the California Knights. Who will join the New York Warriors in the final of the inaugural US Masters T10? Head over here to follow our coverage of Qualifier 2 right here on Sportskeeda. For the moment though, this is your host Sooryanarayanan Sesha taking your leave. Thank you so much for being a part of this coverage. Have a great Sunday tomorrow - buh-bye and see you around!
Hits the winning runs, rushes across for the toss for the next game and bolts back for the post-match interview. Ben Dunk's quite the multi-tasker - a wicket-keeper and captain too of course so he knows a thing or two about it. He'll be elated to be playing another game of course with a place in the final up for grabs. Not to be for Morrisville Unity however as they bid adieu to the tournament but they had their moments to cherish and will look to better their Eliminator finish next year.
Ben Dunk (Texas Chargers captain): (What was most pleasing?) Obviously the batting. I think the turning point for us was that last over from TP (Perera). We were staring down the barrel for potentially 130 but it was an outstanding over. The bowlers have also had a bit of a break to get some food on the board, some fluids and then get back again. The last four games we've showed great discipline and attention to detail so I'm going to ask the same of them. We've been a little slow on over-rate and I don't like spending too much money especially on fines (grins) so will talk to the boys about that. I've really enjoyed being in the States. Been very fortunate to play the morning games and have the afternoon off so I've played some golf. Just lovely to have players from different countries and cultures play together and rub some shoulders.
Mohammad Hafeez is the Player of the Match for his sensational 22-ball 57. Here's what he has to say: We knew the pitch was good and we packed ourselves. We knew if we could get a positive start we could get the runs. This was the match to take up responsibility. Momentum is with us - we have a morale-boosting win so why not just go with that confidence and play another game. It's a good track but if you bowl in the right areas, you get some skiddy and low bounce on it. It's a pitch for everyone - someone has to execute right.
Harbhajan Singh (Morrisville Unity captain): They both took the game away from us. they batted brilliantly, no doubt about it. They put our bowlers under pressure. Every bowler who came in tried their best but Hafeez and Mukhtar were too good. (Takeaway from the tournament) Lots of memories and good memories - being on the park and playing with my old mates. Very happy to be here playing this tournament and meeting all my old friends is a privilege. I had great fun - all my teammates, if you ask anyone, they will say the same. If you forget the enjoyment part you get very serious in life. You play sport to enjoy yourself. Next time whenever the opportunity arises we'll come back better and stronger. To all my fans, I just want to say thank you very much for your support throughout my career. It's been a great journey. Blessing to be playing the game again in whatever level.
Match Summary: Texas Chargers beat Morrisville Unity by 8 wickets to secure a berth in Qualifier 2.
Mohammad Hafeez 57 (22) | Thisara Perera 4/17 (2) Obus Pienaar 51 (25) | Navin Stewart 2/3 (1)
They came, they saw and they absolutely dominated the Morrisville Unity bowlers. Mohammad Hafeez and Mukhtar Ahmed were two men on a mission today and was that mission successful or what! It wasn't an impossible one that required Ethan Hunt and his force but it certainly was no easy task either. The openers made it look like a cakewalk though and it was quite a privilege to witness that hitting display!
S Sreesanth kept the openers on their toes in the first over as he generated some movement. But thereafter, it all went kaput for Morrisville Unity with the Texas Chargers truly living up to their name and charging along. There were pick-up shots, lofts over the covers and tonks down the ground. The full package in essence as Hafeez dished out a hammering and then some to render a target of 116 very menial in the end.
At the other end though, Mukhtar unleashed some colossal hits of his own. The only rain today was in the form of sixes and fours and the duo racked up the first 100-run opening partnership for the season. 58 runs were scored across overs 2-4 and that pretty much buried this chase for good.
The Professor notched up a half-century while Mukhtar couldn't do so, with Navin Stewart dismissing them both within quick succession. But skipper Ben Dunk sealed the deal with two big sixes to force Morrisville Unity to pack their bags while his own team will carry on and play again in just a few moments from now...
And that's how you do it! As fitting a conclusion to this contest as any with another booming maximum bringing the curtains down on this run-fest. The tournament's over for Morrisville Unity but Texas Chargers live to see another day (or a couple of hours in a literal sense...)
8.3 Dane Piedt to Ben Dunk, DUNK SEALS IT IN STYLE! Full and just outside the off stump as he transfers weight forward. Swings over long on who's interested for a bit and has an arm outstretched but it clears him and brings the curtains down on this contest. Texas Chargers win by 8 wickets with 9 deliveries to spare and book a spot in Qualifier 2!
What a sweet sound it made off the blade!
8.2 Dane Piedt to Ben Dunk, SIX! SWEET TIMING! Steps out to the pitch of this full one outside the off stump and swings handsomely over mid-wicket. Deposits it way back over the mid-wicket fence and they're just three runs away now...
8.1 Dane Piedt to Thisara Perera, too close to cut off a length on off stump. Perera manufactures room and somehow fences it out to backward point for one
Dane Piedt [1.0-0-13-0] is back into the attack
Finally, an over that goes the way of Morrisville Unity. Alas, it's too little and far too late even with both set batters back in the hut. Two strikes away from a berth in the Eliminator are the Chargers and they'll want to wrap this one up soon.

7.6 Navin Stewart to Thisara Perera, around the wicket and angling into the stumps. Perera makes room and chops it square on the off-side for a run
Thisara Perera, LHB, comes to the crease
Sensational work from Obus Pienaar! He has the advantage of being as tall he is but to still pull off a catch like that requires some special skill alright.
7.5 Navin Stewart to Mukhtar Ahmed, GONE! WHAT A GRAB! AB de Villiers would have been proud of that! Banged in short at the stumps and for a moment, it seemed as though Mukhtar got a good piece of it as he stood tall on his pull. Deep mid-wicket hares to his left though and times his leap to perfection to cling in a yard or two inside the ropes and that is nothing short of brilliant.
Mukhtar Ahmed c Obus Pienaar b Navin Stewart 47 (24b, 4x4, 3x6)
7.4 Navin Stewart to Ben Dunk, full outside the off stump from around the wicket. Dunk creams it on the up to deep extra cover for a run
