Match Summary: Transylvania beat UNEFS by 14 runs.
Wow! That is quite a stunning result we've just witnessed with Transylvania defying the odds in some style. A case of David defeating Goliath if there ever was one as they've managed to strangle the UNEFS batting lineup from chasing down 92, which many would have thought was achievable.
If Vishal Sharma did the star turn with the bat, he was there to do his side's bidding with the ball as well. He sent down two outstanding overs in the powerplay and landed a double-whammy first up before finishing with a wicket maiden that brought the wheels off the UNEFS chase. Once Adeel Muhammad departed, they had a mountain of a task on hand but both Rickie Gill and Waqas Rana seemed determined to pull it off.
In what was a very smart partnership, they picked their spots at will and found the fence on a regular basis while also ensuring that the asking rate didn't get out of hand. That was when Mohit Bansal was deployed in the seventh over and he duly responded with the wicket of Rana. With Irfan Warsi then inducing a false stroke out of Gill and holding onto a great catch, things got out of hand again for UNEFS.
The pressure told on the players of both sides but with Bansal and Arjun Appari sending down two superb overs, they got the job done for Transylvania, who bid adieu to the tournament in style. As for UNEFS, this loss will certainly be a bitter pill to swallow but it is one that the cannot afford to dwell upon for long with the knockouts not far away. They just have to put this behind them and move forward with another game to go for them today.
A run out to cap off a truly sensational defense and the Transylvania players are ecstatic. They've had a tough campaign but what a way to sign off with a huge upset!

9.6 Arjun Appari to Usman Ali, OUT! RUN OUT! Full and outside off, Usman has a big swing at that but misses. Pavel Florin has run through for the single but Usman is not interested. He's standing out of his ground. The keeper lobs the ball onto the stumps and it will be Pavel who'll go down as being run out! But that will be it as Transylvania pull off a massive upset! Pavel Florin run out (Sharat Kishore) 0 (0b, 0x4, 0x6)
9.5 Arjun Appari to Usman Ali, FOUR! Full and outside off, Ali shuffles across and reaches out for it! Opens the face of the bat and smashes it through the point region for a boundary!
That should be that.
9.4 Arjun Appari to Usman Ali, length ball outside off, Ali has a massive swipe at that but fails to make any connection.
Pavel Florin, RHB, comes to the crease
They had no choice but to chance that second run. UNEFS can tie the game at best unless Appari oversteps or bowls a wide.
9.3 Arjun Appari to Usman Ali, OUT! RUN OUT! Into the blockhole and on the leg stump line, Usman gets the inside-edge through the mid-wicket region. The batters look to push for two but the bowler collects the throw and whips off the bails to find Haider well short of his mark! Burhan Haider run out (Mohit Bansal/Arjun Appari) 2 (5b, 0x4, 0x6)
Priceless dot! Every delivery has to travel hereon. 20 needed off 4...
9.2 Arjun Appari to Usman Ali, length ball on the fourth stump line, Usman has a big swing at that but fails to make any connection.
20 needed off 5...
9.1 Arjun Appari to Burhan Haider, length ball on the fourth stump line, Haider cuts it into the point region for a quick single.
A long discussion as to who will bowl the final over. We know now - Arjun Appari to bowl the final over of the game.
Why did the fielder underarm the throw off the penultimate delivery is quite bemusing. A normal, accurate throw would have seen the bowler collect the ball and catch Haider short of his ground. But it's still a good over from Transylvania's point of view given what the equation is like - UNEFS require 21 runs to win off the last over!

8.6 Mohit Bansal to Usman Ali, banged in short and outside off, Usman looks to cut it away but to no avail.
8.5 Mohit Bansal to Usman Ali, a full toss on the middle stump, heaved into the mid-wicket region for a single. The batters take off for the second but the bowler fails to collect the throw and execute the run out at the non-striker's end.
